This is a game where people can get banned for going against their forced meta and having anything besides the same lane setup every game. I played Smite, LoL and DOTA2, and while I'm a shitter in all of these, DOTA2 and Smite at least allow you to do things differently. Have 3 people on one lane if you wish to split the farm, etc.

The reason we havent gotten pitlord yet is because icefrog has no fucking idea what to do with the hero. He's been the most reworked hero in the entirety of dota, though dota 2 has been out for quite the while so that may have changed.

As someone who is master elo in league playing it, I don't think league is dying exactly but the queue times for high elo is pretty bad. Autofill made things slightly better but they are using so many variables that it probably messes things up. Before dynamic queue it would just throw everyone into the champion select lobby and let them figure it out. The queue times are more about if you want to be guaranteed a lane still or have to figure it out with 4 people.
I can get on my silver / plat elo accounts and get in a game in 1-5 minutes but on the account I play ranked mostly on it takes 15-20 sometimes.
I liked playing Overwatch while in queue for league (I play 1-3 games in queue) but competitive mode disappointed me because of how long and drawn out it feels sometimes.

They were, mostly done, really simple to do. Like, any intern could finish them in about a week.

I got into LoL when it was fresh (late 2009) when it was genuinely FUN.
There were champions who could teleport from one side of the map to the other, shoot massive crits randomly, go invisible etc. Karthus was strong fun to play, gangplank was fun as hell, Evelynn was a stealthy glass-cannon instead of a joke, bruisers didn't dominate everything and TF was a popular pick.
The game wasn't balanced around tournaments, every single champion was unique and interesting, the meta wasn't set in stone, it had it's own visual style and people actually had FUN playing that shit. I have some great memories of this game from pre-S1 up to S2. Before becoming a boring, depressing clusterfuck.
Granted, it wasn't very noob-friendly and people bitched about Evenlynn and Tryn a lot. But it was fun and it was played as if it was a game, not a "sport".

1. Get rid of runes.
I'm not doing that pay 2 win shit, and I have too much of a life to grind that shit out. Fuck you.
2. Make levels and money less important
Everyone thinks they're fucking amazing at League, but the truth is, half of them are shit. These shit players are convinced they're great because League is built so that a bad lane matchup, if not helped out by your teammates, will often result in you steamrolling everyone and getting some nausiating 40-8, even though you fed in your last 3 games. On the other hand, one shitty teammate can result in someone slightly less shitty on the opposing team also going 40-8, and fucking your ass up, even though you played perfectly. League is supposed to be a team game. Why is the emphasis of the game not on "Team fight", and instead on laning phase (AKA: When all the bullshit happens)?
3. Stop it with the shitty new designs
None of the characters since Lucien have interested me, at all, whatsoever. Maybe that's because there is so few of them. Maybe it's because they're scared of SJWs. I dunno, but either way, they look like uninspired shit.
4. Don't let champs rot in unplayable tier for years at a time.
If I paid money or time to learn a character, and then you go and nerf my character to being shit, that's one thing. Leaving my character shitty for a year or more, without any serious attempt to buff my character is absolutely unforgivable. Add on that I've paid for runes to play this character in ranked, and you've done something TRULY EVIL. If someone is nerfed in a fighting game, it's OK because it's 1v1 and you're not letting your team down by playing low tier. If someone is nerfed in DOTA or Overwatch it's OK, because you have access to everyone, and can just play someone else. In League, you now have to obtain a new champ, and buy more runes.

That is literally impossible with how Thunderlord works. It's possible you were playing against someone who stacked nothing but AD in their runepage but the math doesn't work out unless you are using "obliterate" as hyperbole.
And the same thing with Lux. I've been hit by plenty of her spells, unless she has a build going and can combo you then you are going to be fine, and that's not even getting into how easy those skillshots are too dodge.
Neither of those characters have ever been like what you are describing (unless Lux had some kind of horrible OP phase on release I don't know about)

I mean you're not wrong, but 6.82+ is way too punishing against early game lineups, to the point where they're hardly possible to do in pubs now. Picking 3+ hard carries is actually a threatening lineup now because one mistake means you're now sitting on equal team net worth versus a team that scales better, and that's actually a huge fucking problem in Dota because of the huge discrepancies in hero scaling compared to other games in the same genre. Not to mention repeated reworks/buffs to make a bunch of carries midgame fighters that come online at 15 minutes and only get worse as the game goes on, like new!PL and new!Terrorblade. Adding % scaling to intelligence didn't really do much to help that, if anything it just made Tinker really fucking strong again.
And besides, even if it's balanced in its current state, it's way less fun because it panders to Peruvian players who can't handle anything more complex than PA or new!Windy.

One of my biggest issues with Valve was that their balance was always a popularity contest, which meant that if a hero was really fucking good already but not picked in competitive, they'd keep getting buffed until they became so braindead to play that choosing them was a no-brainer.
See: Lina, Enchantress, Windranger, Terrorblade pre-nerfs, Nature's Prophet, Beastmaster, Invoker, OD. I can see Enigma, Phoenix, Bloodseeker, and PA going in that direction. And then when they get so powerful that people finally start bitching, they either nerf them so hard that they never get seen again (see: Terrorblade, or Morphling post-TI2), or give them a meaningless slap on the wrist.

Old PL just had a gimmick where he went invis for 8 seconds and made an illusion of himself that copied his current order, so as long as you had dust he was pretty easy to find out.
