>How is Ivy bridge with bottlenecks with your 980 ti?
Non-existant. Nothing over the 2500k has any real world impact at above 720p in any game since 2005.

The bottleneck your retarded mind may have confused would be weaker i7s vs the E series processors which have more PCIe lanes for multiple GPUs and PCIe interface SSDs. But my 980Ti only uses 16 lanes, which is less than half of what the i7 Ivy Bridge processor provides.

tl;dr you're beyond retarded

Now for rendering in a development application, visual studio, compression, encryption and encoding. Yes absolutely newer CPUs are superior. But in videogames? The difference is so minuscule (fractions of a framerate) that they might as well be a rounding error.

Not only this but the only way you can actually display how a CPU performs in a game is to lower to sub-720p and disable the graphics card. With a dedicated GPU, as long as you are newer than Sandy Bridge everything performs identically

A static discharge isn't enough to fry a computer component unless you bridge two contact points on the PCB of your GPU or motherboard and jump it. But even then a static charge is so weak it shouldn't ruin the connection.

Also why are you assembling on carpet? Move it somewhere easily sterilized and dust free (i.e. your kitchen, faggot).

No, its to show the difference between all of the "newest shit"
And to prove that unless you have the money to throw, there is no actual reason to upgrade.

The actual difference on those cards may vary, sometimes even the titanX beats everything except the 1080, but depends on the games, and also depends of jewvidya and his shitworks.

This tests are going to be the closest to reality, because in 2, or maybe 3 driver upgrades, performance in older cards is going to drop very hard, instead of improve the new ones.

To reach the 2ghz clock showed by novidya in his conference, you need to watercool and do serious OC, Now custom builds reach like 1600-1700 wich isnt that much far from the 1400 that pic related can do with OC and boosclock, and mine, like almost all titanXs are reference.

You dont need to upgrade unless you go beyond 1080p or beyond 60fps
The 970 and a 390 are more than ok for a decent build, same with Cpu´s showed by another anon at the start of the thread.

Unless you OC a single core, there isnt that much difference for the money involved.

You can't play 1440p or 4k DSR at 144FPS. Also assets in modern games are rendered at 60/30/15 depending on the tier the are (primary/secondary/tertiary). None of it scales up beyond 60FPS, which is why 144hz monitors are memes. Even foliage is manipulated at 30/15fps normally, unless it is put center focus, then it sometimes is given priority processing and will ramp up a little bit, or add in motion blur.

A wider color gamut, superior color accuracy and higher resolution all make a more significant difference in 99.99% of games. Since engines can scale textures (just not framerates beyond what the original asset was captured/renders at/cycles at)

Most gaymur monitors are TN panels which don't meet 60% of the industry standard for gamut and bit depth. It is an objectively inferior experience.

There are some rare exceptions to this rule. Like people who competitively play Quake LIVE or UT 2016. But that is really it. That niche genre represents about .01% of the market. No other competitive shooter scales assets above 60fps, they just use predictive in-between to fill in gaps. That animation was never there, it is not much different than motion blur applied to inferior 24p motion pictures you see in the cinema.

I've gamed at 120fps. Sure it is "smooth" but you aren't getting more information that way like you did from the bump to 30 to 60. If developers started rendering/capturing at 120fps then I'd be inclined to agree there is real value in it.

>he actually bought a huge expensive radiator with two fans
>>
>>343496487
I'm not fucking around with liquid cooling so I figure I would grab the largest radiator I could and just pump a fuck ton of air through my case.

>AMD and false reporting ftw
It's likely running at more like 30-40c idle. Which is pretty normal friendo~ Got an 8350 in two of my other systems, it's cute when it posts 10c
>>
>>343496416
Shouldn't be that high.

I use the Level up thing to hit 4.6 and I idle at 40s.

When working it usually shows 40C but idle doesn't pass 20C

Sorry if you're too poor to buy a good cooler m8.
>>
>>343496734
Like $80? I don't care that much to be honest. I really don't want to fuck with liquid cooling.

I've got that Cool Master Hyper 212 now, that cheap as shit one and it's not that great. Figure the Noctua is going to be a significant upgrade.

>>343496852
I'm currently using CPU-Z to monitory my clock and it's sticking at 4.2 ghz even though I just have VLC, Chrome, Skype, Steam, and a few other small things open. I'm going to just chalk this one up to not enough airflow through my case.

I have a Fractal Design Define R4 with only two fans in it right now. It's a great case, but I probably need a bit more cooling. I've got 3 more fans to throw in it when I rebuild so that should fix my cooling issues.

Do ram frequency really matter ?
>>
>>343497174
It's been proven that fast ram can really help if you have an older OC'd CPU.

>>343497174
Only if you're keen on overclocking.
