Can't believe this is the only steam summer sale thread. I'm late to the game, but there needs to be like a list of best cheap games on sale right now.
If I was going to waste 40 hours of my life clicking for trash should I do path of exile or Diablo 3 + expansion? Haven't played either and I haven't played a clicker since Diablo 2.

Bsed on people opinions and gameplay vids, I dropped Star Hammer out of cart.
I was thinking about Transformers: Devastation, but it might be too short or lacking content. Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem looks nice, but its early access, so I might as well wait. Planetary Annihilation; Titans sounds nice, but I heard some negative rumors.
Eden Star, Novus Inceptio and Fragmented sound like comfy base building/exploration, but again - early access.
Please advice me about games to add - or I should be done with the cart I ahve right now?
In before - yes, I know how BE is related to Civ V. No, Im overfed with SMAC and wont play it for now. I want some sci-fi themed 4x on surface.

Rainbow 6 Siege is real neato, got about 300 hours in it, Terraria is worth it if you haven't played the last major expansion(1.3?)
Arma 2 is still good for warfare(TvT territory capture/elimination with basebuilding) and goofy "life" roleplay servers which you can sink a ridiculous amount of time into.
Factorio has multiplayer and can keep your inner autist satisfied almost forever.
Risk of Rain is good 2d sidescrolling collectathon roguelite goodness.
Interplanetary is good if you have a bunch of people to play with, it's scorched earth in space.

Ark is awful.
Runs awful even on very good rigs, construction is limited to pre-made parts, crafting take WAY too much esources than what you gather, even with like 4x modifiers and many more. Game was a youtube/twitch hit but dont carry real value itself.

Stardew Valley is a fantastic one of those games. Will most likely get about 50+ hours or so out of it.
However the best value for your money is most likely Factorio if you want to spend the time on it. It has a lot higher learning curve than Stardew, but is more rewarding once you get going.

To my knowledge the PC game is a port over of the PSP retweak of the original Disgaea, and I believe you can emulate that psp game on your PC anyway.
That said I don't know what they did for the PC release, the quality of life is probably better

I tried it, even the initial challenge bump was pretty damn boring. Pretty environment, immersive as fuck game, but the surviving/crafting part was boring as fuck. Only exploration was interesting, but that was constantly being hindered by my characters need to drink/sleep/warm up.
I get that that's the whole point, and I enjoy that in other games, but not in this one. I mean, there's a pitcher on that table, but I can't take it to get snow inside and melt and drink it? Instead I somehow have to find an alternate way to get drinking water? How fun.

Dying Light was pretty enjoyable to me. It took about 40 hours to finish side/story quests in the first portion of the game. If you're scared easily like me, then you'll be scared often. All in all it was a decent time killer.
However, I felt that "The Following" (expansion) portion of the game was garbage and only played a few hours of it before quitting (did not count in my 40 hour tally).
The Long Dark is neat but I was bored after a few hours. Hardly anything has changed for like 8 months and I'm pretty sure they said story-mode would be out around last Christmas but just keep pushing it back. Plus they said it was only going to be around 4-5 hours in length. Overall, I regret purchasing it.

All great titles, though I found Blazblue's learning curve a bit rough and, though I've dabbled with the series since, I've never really clicked with it in the same way I did Capcom's fighters.

Both Company of Heroes games have pretty good AI and are very enjoyable to play in skirmish, though they require getting used to if you're coming from traditional RTS.
Age of Mythology is super fun.
Age of Empires 2 is the best but dated a little bit. 3 is not very good and I'd advise aganist it.
Avoid Starcraft or Grey Goo because they're completely multiplayer oriented. WC3 has nice campaign, but it's not that much of an RTS.
Some people would die for the Command and Conquer series. I think they're too much like Starcraft for some reason and I hate them.
Total War is a hit or miss. Both in terms of some entries being utter shit, but also in terms of some people simply not liking them, despite liking the genre as a whole.
If you really want a reccomendation instead of having options that you don't know anything about, I'd say go with Age of Mythology or the first Company of Heroes.
Anything out there that remotely resembles STALKER or Pathologic?

Every area enemy in this game is terrifying. I have to sit there in the dark and watch this thing's eyes dart back and forth, trying not to move or get spotted because it's a goddamn manticore.
The enemys are all overpowered, but it's kinda understandable given that you are a guy without armor stuck in a labryinth.
Every time I think the game has gotten easy it throws a curveball at me. Hard to get good screenshots because the game is 85% darkness.

Depths of Fear: Knossos. Mix of dungeon crawler, horror game and Thief. Basically you are stuck in a labyrinth and need to fight your way out and eventually kill the minotaur. The game tells you fuck all about what to do. Sound design is mostly pretty good and helps sell what's going on.
All I'm gonna tell you is you need to venture down 3 levels per labyrinth area to get to the final battle where you face the monster in combat where you can actually kill it once and for all.
It's like $0.69 and it looks like shit, is animated like shit, even has a shitty video filter you can turn off on by default. Somehow it's surprisingly suspenseful and scary at times.
I grabbed with Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi, haven't played Nosferatu yet though.

Here's another one. Managed to get lucky this time as the key and the exit spawned pretty close. I would tell you more about the game, but I feel like the less I tell you, the scarier certain discoveries will be.
Just make sure to try to stock up on gold and books early. Stockpiling arrows might feel OP, but they're actually relatively expensive. Also don't think any one thing is going to solve most or all of your problems.
Grabbing a shield will help a lot, but you're still dead in the dark.
The order listed on the ring is the suggested order, although you can tackle the bosses in any order you want. Note that the order proposed by the sun is not the same order.
And the enemies are dumb, but they are smarter than you think.

Yo guys i've beaten both and I just have to say despite its graphics Environmental Station Alpha is the superior game 10 / 10 times. It captures that Super Metroid feel right down to the music and exploration. Hidden shit galore.
Axiom verge was great too but like half the guns are useless and it feels sort of rushed and bored me to tears towards the end. I still recommend the game being a 1 man show and all but Environmental Station Alpha surprised me straight from start to finish.

Really hard to define. Sandbox lets you plop down stuff from Half Life 2, TF2 and the workshop and fuck around with it, build stuff, pose ragdolls, build stuff, just try to do anything you can.
Multiplayer, there is a rather large variety of modes to play with different themes. Half of them boil down to DarkRP though, but understand that not all roleplay is like that. Understand that most gmod players are around 12-17 years of age. Good gamemodes will come, go and die.
There is genuinely a huge amount of things to do. Posing to make screenshots, building things, playing multiplayer modes and making videos are the main things.
Hardcore/Serious roleplaying servers are 90% shit but the 10% that's good are so good it makes you keep searching for a good one after so much failure.

don't get any of the steam ports, they're terrible. So are the smartphone tablet ports. Play either the GBA or PSP versions of whatever game you start with. I personally recommend Final Fantasy V Advance for your first one. It's a lighthearted, bare-bones story that doesn't talk too much with IMO the best character customization system in any FF game.

Here's what I got so far.
I have to give a BIG shoutout to INFRA.
It's a first person puzzle/exploration game about being a civil engineer in a crumbling city. Picture a horror game like Silent Hill, sans monsters and the supernatural, or any enemies for that matter. It's made in Source Engine and you go around solving puzzles, exploring, taking pictures of damage, and learning more about why the city went to shit. The game is surprisingly long too, I'm at around 7 hours played despite not having beaten it so far.
It's well worth a buy if you like Source Engine and/or Urban Exploration.
