I liked the fact that they opted for something different instead of going for a full capoeira fighters team. Nelson and Bandeiras look like hues and at the same time aren't stereotypes.
It seems that they intended Zarina to also be brazilian since she is basically a brazilboo living in Brazil and looks like a BR girl stereotype, but changed their minds at the end. I was also expecting more from her gameplay1 attack move with the toucan would be enough, comon SNK..., but her desing is cool at least, I liked her hairstyle, bandana and yellow clothes.

Maybe it was a Sony strongarm type of deal. Sony and SNK don't really have a friendly history and only recently SNK games are on PSN aside from KOF13. Japanese don't own xbox ones and nintendo doesn't do much for their 3rd parties so I guess it left SNK little option.
