I really liked the first two Bioshock games with a slight preference for the first because it had Andrew Ryan, that magnificent bastard. I only played the third one for maybe two or three hours at a friends house. A friend with a really shitty taste in video games who was all like "THIS IS THE DEEPEST GAME EVAAAAAR", so I decided to skip that one.

I never really found them fun to use because I felt like they were all a bit too sticky. It's the contrast between flying around while batman does 56 flips a second to suddenly being locked in place while he shoots a hookshot or throws a freeze grenade. It just kills flow, and it feels much smoother to simply keep hitting attack.
Even then it it doesn't do much other than look cool in and of itself, it's not like say DMC where each weapon has wildly different properties and vastly affect enemy positions and Dante's state or whatever. The only one I can think of is the hookshot but even then there's only one real course of action to take after you use it and that's hitting the punch button.
Minerva's Den and the MP were the only good things about BS2 though.
The campaign was shit, and if it wasn't for HAND FULL OF HELLFIRE I would have dropped it.

For me, Bioshock Infinite was the straw that broke the camel's back when it comes to mainstream journalism critique. It has without a doubt the most glaring discrepancy between its metacritic rating and its quality.
I don't even think it's that bad a game, it had some cool stuff, but fucking 94 out of 100? That's just plain ridiculous.
But I remember one of the big sites republished a review much later giving it a lower score. At least that's something, though I can't find it right now.
