Depends on the matchup. vs. other floaty characters it gets pretty boring, yes, because it gets campy and defensive which is very uncharacteristic of Melee. But Hbox vs. a good fox or marth is interesting because you've got one side trying to thread the needle and the other trying to maintain the wall.
Most of the disappointment at Hbox matches come from the fact that people don't like him personally, so they want to see him lose. But if it was really boring everyone would just quit watching, which they don't. We watch every single time and we all curse together when he wins and celebrate when he loses. It's fun.

Why do these threads get made every day if 90% of it is just arguing with people who play other fighting games or people who hate fighting games in general? Melee players can't go to
/ssbg/ either because it's all smash 4. Other games in series get their own general, like Bloodborne and Dark Souls, so why can't melee?

Melee players have no reason to switch now because entrants are similar, gets more stream views and has more prestige from skill. So money isn't worth it to switch.
However, if Smash 4 got support from Nintendo with mkx or sfv type money $500k, I bet players would switch. And if gods with fans switch, viewers and players would switch.
You can't confidently say they won't as the situation right now is completely different.
