It mostly did, if you consider the overall plot of VLR. We got to see how "six people died" in Dcom but Akane and Junpei survived, for example.

Let's face it, though - ending was huge sequel bait. Considering how the game is getting released on PC and how they consider the current art-style more "Western", alongside the Telltale-esque adventure game presentation... Spike Chunsoft is certainly trying to play to the strengths of the series (which does a lot better in the West) by making it more appealing to the Western Market (by being on PC). So sales will probably decide if we get ZE Vol. 4 - and I'm betting we'd get the stuff with Kyle/Clover/Alice then.

Tl;dr - SC testing for sales, saving some story concepts, this game could easily be the end of the series despite the few threads it did not tie, said threads wwre purposely left untied to aid cohesion in a hypothetical fourth entry which no longer has the Radical-6 outbreak prevention as its main driving point.

Not between timelines, but to different a time. Brother should have died a long time ago before the events of VLR. What I'm trying to reason in my previous post is that it can be deduced that it's a fact that he IS still alive.

It was never stated that Brother could jump between timelines, but it was implied since it was said he's an esper. It was said he body-slipped into a different time, though ie, he's a time traveler. Was it true? If so, how did he achieve it? If it wasn't true, then why is he still alive in the events of VLR?

When I played the VLR epilogue I got excited but I wasn't expecting him to reuse the twist and make a 4D character, because there was no indication he would do it.

I just assumed [?] was the player and Akane was just talking about beating ZE3 to save humanity, because that made a lot of more sense than re using BW.

I checked the timeline, the Delta-Left theory works out. Left took part in a nonary game in 1921 and died. Brother was 16 years old at this point. Brother took part in another nonary game in 1931 which is when Gordain died and the nonary games stopped. Brother has been said to have started the cult when he was 26, which happens to also be the year 1931. Brother wants to save Left and maybe everyone who died during the other early nonary games.

Biggest time sinks were... the teleporter room and the healing room, former because trial and erroring to reach the results instead of doing arithmetics or whatever, and the latter because my GOD they didn't make things very apparent in low-res.
