Every single costume was redone/painted over to avoid any exposed skin, boss cleavage was censored in game with a ms paint spray tool, they altered and rewrote an entire chapter dungeon and made it into a 90s kid theme dungeon while being completely removed from the plot, all fanservice scenes were removed, such as the hotspring scene, they quite literally removed her hipbones for no reason, and they altered a few scenes/dialogue to be more kid friendly. Its just a fucking butchered mess, to the point of the original artistic vision of the developer is wholly removed to varying degrees.

Translator from the uncensored patch here, it was not just that.
Basically everytime someone talked about gravure or Tsubasa's age they changed the line, and sometimes they changed whole conversations and eliminated player choices by locking the dialogue in a single path instead. I total there were 57 re-recorded lines, but a lot more lines have just been cut straight out.
For example Touma lusting over Maiko's magazine and him wanting to make Itsuki tag along to Tsubasa's shooting because he just wants to see girls in swimsuits. There's actually quite a lot of humor in those scenes that was lost.

That goes to my second point. Family entertainment. NoA on the NES and SNES were insane in how they fucked over games. Just read up on Maniac Mansion and have a ball. It really wasn't until Mortal Kombat where NoA finally started to loosen it's grip for 3rd party but that has also to do with Sega was leading for a brief time with the Genesis and Nintendo felt they needed to do something to win back the audience.
The problem now is Nintendo doesn't look at Sony and Microsoft as the same as they saw Sega. To them they are trying to win a different demographics. The gravure dungeons was butchered, the rest is fucking minor but when you censor an entire dungeon the story is bound to suffer, and it does.

The shitposters that despise this game are completely misinformed and parrot each other. The gameplay is good especially all the freedom you get in building the party. Only problem is that Itsuki is a forced party member out of 3 and he only learns sword, electric and support skills, so you're forced to rely on other party members for coverage. There's a few battles towards the end game where I wish I could've thrown in Touma instead or someone that isn't weak to lances.
