WHAT ARE SOME AWESOME MULTI GAMES????
Guys, I really don't want to throw 60 shekels at games this sale. I set myself a budget of 25 euro and prefferably spending less that. Which of these should I get/remove?
Is Arkham Knight fixed? I'm really considering getting it on sale.
Speed runners is dope, but tabletop simulatore sounds lame.
wow
this is actually fun. I should stop discriminating against cheap-looking indie games.
Probably worth more like $10-$20 if the spritework was more polished

This. If there are people who haven't played it, they should stop what they're doing and go play it.
It started getting too repetitive only after whopping 70 hours and I'm just left craving more content(I did mod it, which extended my play time to 100 hours tho). WE NEED FTL2!
>>342839902
Reflex is great if you're into quake style arena shooters. Player base is small so first check if you have servers with some players around you(you don't need that many players for this kind of game to be fun tho, competitive focuses on 1v1s anyways and 5 player ffa is already tons of fun). Imho, alongside UT4(which is not a quake style arena shooter, pretty big difference), it's the best arena shooter around and I have played most of them.
If you're into modern military shooters then Insurgency is pretty fucking solid. Graphics are a little outdated but imho they work well for the game.
Remember to not buy any Denuvo-protected title.
If you aren't sure, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denuvo has a comprehensive list of said titles.
Thinking about getting Medal of Honour (2010), AVP (2010) or Doom.
Offworld Trading Company and Age of Decadence worth it /v/?

How's Prison Architect? I cannot trust meme reviews on steam.
>>342840010
Drop Star Ruler. It's unique and interesting in many ways, so it's kinda fun, but it's not 25 bucks kinda fun. I refunded it too two days ago. Neat concepts up the wazoo, but most of the gameplay is just-somewhat-entertaining planet management.
Satellite Reign runs like ass.
Titans is fun, community is really small though. Ignore the Forged Allience nerd shitters that'll arrive any moment.
Speed Runners if you want to play it with friends, otherwise meh.
Same for Tabletop.
Shadowrun is the only one I can really recommend.
Any good co-op games?
>>342839287
Just got Batman Akrham Asylum/City/Origins for less than £12.
That should be it for me unless I get tempted by some Rocksmith DLC.
Every game i want i've googled and has major problems that i can't get past.
>durr autism
>Grid - rubberbanding
>Xcom- saving (yes i know about ironman, saving just shouldn't be there)
>binding rebirth - not the original soundtrack
>Eurocuck 2 - no damage models or cops, speeding tickets are automatic so you can't just keep an eye out for cops, the one thing that could keep you alert... missed opportuniyu
>volgarr the viking - meant to be autistic levels of hard
>banished - no combat, meant to be fun and then winter hits and not fun anymore or everyone gets old and doesnt have sex anymore
Which one of those games would you recommend, /v/?
My self-imposed limit for this sale is 45 EUR, up to 60 if I will succumb completely.
I wont lie that I hoped for bigger discounts.

Get the expansions for Bioshock Infinite. They're worth it.
The weapon DLC not so much. The engine only allows you to have so many equipped.

>>342845440
Stranger of Sword City is very grindy but jrpg fun, apparently. Buy if you like that.
Mordheim is DLC heaven, expensive, with RNG bullshit. Otherwise great game.
Pandora is a modernish SMAC clone, with a beta(?) patch that supposedly solves a lot of AI issues. Buy if you want that. Fun for a couple of playthroughs at least.
The rest is trash, honestly.
One of you rich fucks buy me Stardew Valley

age of decadence is really good, only downside is its literally min/max the game. don't expect to play any other character that's not an archetype. no jack of all trades.
>>342845404
You can just ignore the saving for xcom, I know it sucks though.
Issac is so worth it. The soundtrack isn't as good, but it's an amazing game.
>>342845585
Definitely worth it.
I got it on PS+ a while back and I've probably put more time into that than anything else on the console. That's only playing two or three games at a time too.

>>342846398
For that price? Not a chance.
Wait for edition with all DLCs, just like most people did with 2.

Is Beyond Earth with expansion still bad? Because I heard it actually improved, like, a lot. /vg/ general is all about Stellaris now.
>>342846545
OTC and Overfall are great, worth the money. Tastee does look really interesting, like Frozen Synapse in many ways, but there's no playerbase. None. It's stillborn, really, so I'm hesitant myself. Hard West is meh at best, looks like a clunkier and not nearly as polished XCOM. Into the Stars looks like crap, never heard of Boss Monster.
Take a look at Invisible Inc, Steamworld Heist, Xenonauts and Battle Brothers. And Bastard Bonds.
>>342846638

I got Star Ruler 2 at GOG for 10$ and I cant say I liked it. Sure, it have unique elements and you can do really fun things like making starships that track and pull planets around, make ringworlds and such, but whole game system was a bit too unique for me. Economic cycles with money not carying over to next one, planet levels system that turns most of planets you colonize into food/water sources and nothing else and such.
I would really recommend Satellite Reign, tho. Sure, it would really make use of REAL pause (slowing down time slows down camera as well, making it pretty much useless) and most importantly - Ai for your own people, so they would shoot back (or not) when needed, so you wont have to babysit them 24/7 - but overall, I had really great fun playing this.

Really shouldn't be a factor, but you can bind whatever keys you want to. I've played with friends on keyboard. I can't stress enough how important a pad is for things like motions, though.
Trying to do motions on the keyboard is a fight against yourself. It's worth getting an f310 or something while you're learning.

>>342847496
It has been a couple of months since i played it.
I got 40-60 fps average at (medium ?) settings with GTX 970.
So it was not the perfect performance but it was playable.
But it might have changed, since they put out a patch nearly every week.
>>342847496

>>342847706
second steam sale I mean second steam sale Ive actually bought shit (too much shit)
>>342847275
Age of Wonders 3 gets really good with all expansions, but you have to buy them first - base game lacks some elements, even if they introduced a lot of tweaks and such with normal patches. I have like 90 hours with it, 40 with just base game and loved it - but knowing how much it improves with each expansion DLC, I cant just recommend getting base game.
Or - get base, check if you like it and buy expansions at Fall/Winter Sale.
Shadowrun games are kinda forgotten right now, which is sad, since they are very fine RPGs. True RPGs, I must add - Hongkong ahve missions, where you dont even have to fight and can talk everything out. Dragonfall have good balance between narrative and fighting, Returns is somewhat lacking but still good. Hongkong is mostly about talking.
Not all choices matters, but devs did a good job making it FEELS like they do matter. I was actually reading all dialogues and thinking over my answers, something I didnt do in long time.
>>342847281
Actually, not really. Last time I checked, gathering system was shit (crafting eat way too much materials than what you collect, unless you set up server rules to make it 4x more or something), game was running bad and overall, it was more like Youtube/Streaming hit than actually good survival. Dinosaurs saves it a bit, but just a bit.

I bought it last summer and had to refund because I couldn't get more than 15 fps on all low settings on my GTX 480, i7-970, and 8gb RAM rig. Doubt it has changed or ever will because of how they've built the game and the engine.

Well, it was mostly about atmosphere.
I was glad I paid $12 for it with expansions and dlc back in Winter. Sure as fuck wouldn't pay full price though.
>>342848230
REmake and 0 are good, 4 is good.
The first revelations is good, but the DLC is a waste of money if you're not going to do the multiplayer. Also, mod the FOV.
RE 5 is absolute shit if you're not going to play co-op with another human. The AI is broken and the FOV can't be modded all that well: default is around 50, can only be modded up to 75.
Don't know about RE6, Revelations 2, and Operations Racoon City.
>>342852108

Thoughts on Soma? I thought Amnesia was only ok, I didn't think the setting was very interesting and I think the lack of combat makes the game less interesting.
But Soma seems pretty cool with the Sci-Fi dystopia setting. Critics seem to really love it but I'm weary of trusting them since they'll give praise to every Walking Sim.
>>342849607
I was a big killing floor fan.
Killing Floor 2 kinda lost the touch of the original game. The recent patches have fucked over things further.

Should I bother with the Spess Mehreen DLC? I was going to buy it to run through the campaign again anyway but I don't know if the MP is still alive.
>>342852649
Assuming you're talking about Battlefleet Gothic.
The multiplayer isn't super populated, but it is still alive.
>trying to find a cheap gem
>all these shit tier flash games
What's some essential /under3$core/ right now?
Daily reminder to not buy those DRM infested final fantasy classics. You have to make an account just to be able to play/save your game. And as you can guess the "failure to connect" is extremely common because the service was probably made just for these.
For 10 bucks a pop for almost 20 y.o. games is ridiculous by any standard. Emulate them; end of story. If you can't figure how to do that easily then you deserve to have your money stolen from you.
>>342850413
if you cant pirate the dinglerompus games i'd take out cross code. dmc 4 special edition is only worth it if you get the dlc, otherwise you might as well get the original for 10 bucks cheaper

As much as Garou makes life worth living, I'm the KOF shill in a steam sale thread, and as much as I love supporting SNK I personally prefer the fightcade version of Garou.
The steam UM versions of '98 and 2002 are great and part of having them on steam is making them accessible, shareable and spreading the word. In short, effective shilling.
I've got a few games in my cart so far, but I'd like to get into fighting games.
I've got KOFXIII in my library from a bundle ages ago, played it for a while but it feels pretty complex. Is there a recommended title to pickup that's good for beginners online players still? I've heard skullgirls mentioned, is it like most other fighting games in terms of controls?
Deading Rising 2 and/or Deading Rising 2 Off The Record, either of them worth $6 each?

>>342853128

Eurotruck 2
FEAR 2
Splinter Cell
Burnout Paradise
Doom 3
Far Cry 1
Turok
CoD: WaW
South Park: The Stick of Truth
Fallout 2
Pillars of Eternity
I know there's some casual shit in it, but idgaf
So which ones should I get and which ones should I drop?
>>342852940
XIII gets very technical, I've introduced friends who were new to fighting games using 2002UM and had good success. I also find 02 a bit faster and more arcade-y, if that makes any sense. XIII is pretty and I love it but it's got its problems.
Skullgirls is for crazy people who like long matches and some very advanced mechanics. Not so beginner friendly.
>>342839287

There is a lot of XP titles on steam which may cease to work as new versions of Windows gets out.
>>342849941
+1 Super Hot
I have 15 bucks, should I get Vermintide alone OR Total War : Age of Charlemagne and a 10$ game ( I was thinking of Sniper Elite 3 )
>got in G2A
black ops 1 (what i expected,great fun)
gauntlet (didn't play yet)
civ V gods and kings (i had to get the countries)
insurgency (looks and plays great, completely different from the mod)
>on steam
how to survive 2 (played a little bit, seems really stripped down since its early access)
torchlight 2 (haven't played yet)
>>342852370
Soma is really good looking and has an interesting and unique story/plot but calling this a game would be a lie. It's a walking simulator through and through and you should torrent it or get it below $5.
>>342853212
Again it's my personal taste but I'd go with 2002. You can jump right in with no modes and such to worry about, and it has by far the biggest roster. This might mean more value to you, it might not. '98 is considered the best by many, but they both cost $3 and are both fantastic games. Neither 98 or 2002 has any story mode or in-depth tutorial, worth noting.
XIII is more full-featured but has a limited roster with generally smaller movesets. Though I really enjoyed that it had a full story mode and color customization and the like.
Think it over, and consider getting a spare copy for a friend, the two packs are a great deal as well.
>>342853330
>How does the game play?
closer thing would be Delta Force games, if it tells you anything. More modern titles to compare would be Squad or Red Orchestra I guess
>>342853598
It was ( still is depending on how you look at it ) but now the game is way too RNG reliant.

>Undertale
I'm gonna assume you already know the downsides of this since you're on /v/, so I'm assuming you're ok with them. If so, it's an enjoyable game.
>Eurotruck 2
Not worth it IMO, but if you're one of those guys that just like to pretend you're cruising down some highway I guess this is where you go.
>FEAR 2
If you already have the first one, go ahead. If not, get that one.
>Splinter Cell
Chaos Theory is the best one IMO.
>Burnout Paradise
I don't like racing games so whatever.
>Doom 3
Meh. Definitely not a bad game and with the sale price it's probably worth it, but I didn't really care for it.
>Far Cry 1
Pretty good.
>Turok
Don't know.
>CoD: WaW
Meh.
>South Park: The Stick of Truth
I never saw why anyone liked this. The humor is good if you like the show, but the gameplay is boring as fuck.

Good.Despite what /v/ might tell you.

Skullgirls and GG Xrd have very good in-game tutorials.
You should try going to your locals if there's any and see what people are playing. Find out if you want to play an airdasher (stuff like GG or Blazblue), a more ground based game (games similar to SF or KoF) or 3D (Tekken, DoA, VF).

I know that it's very popular but I couldn't really get into it myself. There wasn't enough variety (maybe it improved since then?) and the same encounters would repeat over and over again.
The fact that you have to rush all the time and can't really take the time to prepare yourself means that you're often flipping a coin and hoping the RNG doesn't fuck you over.
At the current price it's probably worth a try though, it's not a bad game, it just wasn't for me.

or buy region lock version from my local store for 2/3 the price, should I? Will the disc version be steam compatible?
>>342857053
Yes. The main game is really really good. If you're into stealth you're going to enjoy it a great deal. The world is amazing and the art is top notch.
From the DLCs, Knife of Dunwall is really good, and I think Brigmore Witches is alright as well, don't bother with the rest.

Obligatory personal niche recommendations
Runestone Keeper — great roguelite / minesweeper game. Looks simple at first, but there’s a surprisingly deep gameplay in it. 60+ hours and counting for me. Can’t have enough.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/339400
Desktop Dungeons — coffee brake roguelike with puzzle elements and huge replayability.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/226620
Tales of Maj'Eyal — the best roguelike on the market. Simple graphics, but almost limitless potential for hours to spend in it. There’s also an ingame chat with friendly community always willing to help.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/259680
Battle Brothers — medieval fantasy turn-based RPG / RTS with surprisingly deep gameplay, fantastic atmosphere, and promises of it being even better game after EA is over. The best turn based game I played in 10 years.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/365360
The Talos Principle — first person puzzle made by Serious Sam devs. Smart and interesting challenges, with surprisingly deep story and beautiful world.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/257510
Antichamber — first-person puzzle that doesn't play like Portal 2 at all. It's a mind-bending game, that makes you throw away preconceptions and prior experience playing video games and think differently.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/219890
Lovely Planet — Super Meat Boy from first person perspective with colorful world and VERY challenging levels. A speed run game.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/298600
Snakebird — surprisingly hard but neat puzzle game. Easy buy for those who want both challenging and clever experience.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/357300
Teleglitch — Quake II-esque world with top-down perspective and one life per run.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/234390
The Fall — platformer / puzzle / adventure with good story and dialogs. Rather short.

Banished is fine, play the vanilla fame and when you get the hang of it, get mods, like the colonial charter one.
>>342857368
If the art style triggers you don't bother. I bought it and couldn't play for more than an hour because I also couldn't stand it. Every character looks like something straight out of DeviantArt's Furry category. The voices and writing are also terribly cringy. Yes the combat is nice and kinda comfy, but the characters kill the game for me.
Need 1 more game to make it to the current year. What should i get?
Is Betrayer any good?
>>342857508
top-down realtime strategy. Has that Aliens / WH40k vibe.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/204530
Jets'n'Guns — absolutely fantastic and rad SHMUP with ridiculous number of levels, enemies, jets and guns. Gorgeous soundtrack by cult power-metal group Machinae Supremacy.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/262260
Shadowgate — very well done remake of an old Macintosh adventure. Just the game to spend dull winter evenings in almost pen-n-paper atmosphere. Good experience for those who love the genre.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/294440
Silent Storm — still relevant RPG / TBS made by Russians, set in the WWII / post-WWII world. More than solid, — has the best turn based system I've ever seen in any game. Full and total destruction of almost anything you can find on levels. Rare game to have Axis story arc in it.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/254960
Pix The Cat — a VERY good variation on a classic ‘snake’ formula. Huge replayability, addictive soundtrack, and co-op designed for parties.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/330180/
Duck Game — imagine Smash bros. with ducks and huge variety of different weapons, destructible environment
http://store.steampowered.com/app/312530
Hammerwatch — probably the best Gauntlet inspired game that has ever came out.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/239070
Devil Daggers — addictive arena shooter with surprisingly great atmosphere and audio/visual design (if you’re into it). Geometry Wars from first person. Go and beat 500.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/422970/
Bunker Punks — high speed, no bullshit old-school FPS with graphics straight from the last century. If you liked the new Doom, you might like this one too.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/446120/
NeuroVoider — rougelike twinstick shooter with great visuals and fantastic dark synth soundtrack. Customize your robotic body for it to suit your playstyle the best. Local coop for up to 4 players.

Nah, I was signed into steam to start with on his PC since he didn't have an account yet and was new to it all.
I was teaching him how to use Steam, and he's all like "let's pirate all these games" and I forgot to close steam down before he started launching them all.
My bad, but I decided to setup family share and put his account on it, (and give him a bunch of humble keys I had knocking about to start him off).
It's quite funny actually. The only game he bought so far is Subnautica. So he's got literally one game on my list and he'll have like 500 on his.

I think it's universally known. I can't recommend to do this thing for newcomers, because... well, the mod changes the game too much, for better or worse. As much as I adore the game, I have never finished it. Always stopped playing the minute they become available.

I just bought the Rocket League and Steam Controller bundle. Rocket League so far hasn't been very fun, but only because I can barely manage to control my car with a kb + mouse. It reminds me of how my carpal tunnel ridden middle age mother can barely manage to hit any pins when bowling. Maybe it'll be more enjoyable when I get my controller. The last time I seriously dedicated time to a controller was 10 years ago playing Gran Turismo 4 on a DS2.
