But if you honestly asking, it's because it is a legitimately fulfilling game, with the option to customise it as much or as little as you want.
You can tweak a few things for a little extra challenge, add in new areas and full-fledged fan-made expansions, a complete overhaul of the entire game to make it more of a survival game and even add in all of Fallout 3 to play with the extras that New Vegas brings.
Not sure it's autistic to play a game where I can do all this, but you sure are to complain about it.

Scoped pistols, good or shit? Typically I think with pistols, autos and revolvers you're using them at close range so a scope is more of a hindrance than the utility of having something you can plink people with at medium range.

For anything below a .44, scopes are pointless, for the .44s and above, Pistol Sniping is a perfectly viable tactic, even though the rifles do it(for the most part)better. WMX, oHUD and jsawyers are a must in my opinion. MonsterMod, DFB, EVE, some JIP mods and signature weapon&armor are some other good additions.

I tried to make the game play more like STALKER with Realistic Weapons Damages, Project Nevada, Gun Behavior Mod Merge, etc. Enemies die quickly, but so does the player and headshots are lethal for both. Sadly you can't fix the flaws in the AI, but it makes gunfights a lot more engaging.

Open the Fallout.ini file in your Documents/My Games/FalloutNV folder.
Find the following lines:

Change them to this:

SIntroSequence=0
Now you don't have to repeatedly click through those slides - they're skipped automatically!

I decided to kill Vulpes for being a faggot on lvl 3 or so. He and his mates went down quick enough, without me having to resort to much chem use, heavy weapons and all that
Just as I went to leave Nipton I encountered the Assassins. Those fuckers killed me 20 times or so, before I finally figured out how I could stop them.
I had to start carpet bombing them with dynamite, take cover between a rock, then inject all chems I had, and only then to maximize their effectiveness.

before mod organizer, i did all of the loadlist ordering manually, nmm would just fuck the list up. fomm is not even worth trying.
all you have to do, for manual, is just edit the txt or ini file of the loadorder and back it up, then edit the back up and use that as you base, it's pretty easy and disabling alot of mods at a time takes only a second or two and you know that they won't magically rearrange themselves or disappear.
