They definitely are, the eye is right on the back of the Fused Shadows helmet. It seems like the Sheikah had futuristic technology before recorded history in any of the games, evidenced by their symbol on pic related, and also those little robots that work in the facility creating these stones have black crown shapes on their heads with similarities to Midna's Fused Shadow crown. The BotW Guardians seem to have similar curls down the back of them like the crown too.
Maybe when we're told in TP that they used "magic" to try and get the Triforce it actually means "technology" so advanced it would be considered magic in Link's era, or maybe it was a mix of both.
I like to think that what you take as twili magic in game is more like techmagic anyway, Phantom Zant is a fucking hologram

Forgot to mention those curls, kind of a spiral motif, are in a few interesting places.
The horns and back of the Fused Shadow, the Guardians, and all over Gohdan. Under his mouth, the ends of his mustache, his finger tips and all the spokes on his head. He and the Tower of the Gods are the only advanced tech in Wind Waker.

Good enough for me, I just like the theory of BotW being back at the beginning. You could explain such high tech appearing for the first time in this game that way, as it would be much closer to the era when the Sheikah built it. SS implies that their tech era was a long time ago.
Also there's suddenly a statue of Hylia in the temple, could be before she raised everything up to the sky
I remember some people citing the ancient sea salt you can find as evidence it's after WW, but in SS you find out the Lanayru Desert used to be a great ocean before the Sheikah ruined it

The ruins of OoT's Castle Town are around the Temple of Time in BotW, and the ToT has only appeared in 4 games (OoT, TP, and BotW where it looks nearly identical, and SS where it's a random statue in a desert)
Maybe Castle Town from OoT is what eventually became the Sacred Grove in TP, and Hyrule Castle had already moved by the time BotW takes place (with TP's Castle Town later built around it)

I initially dropped Skyward Sword around the 70% mark when it was new because I couldn't stand the game.
But I replayed the game recently right before Twilight Princess HD was released. And I'll be frank and say that I actually quite loved the game.
It most certainly has very glaring flaws, but it thankfully does many great things to compensate.
The game does stop and pause hold your hand far too much and often. And that really sucks. Terrible in fact.
On the plus side however, whenever you actually stop to look at something on your own volition, there are lots of interesting stuff to find. You can even have Fi tell you lore and observational data on every item, enemy, and NPC in the game.
The game actually has huge improvements in how you control and move Link, both inside and outside of combat.
Of course with this being Skyward Sword this is also met with tons of enemies with absolute terrible enemy design making this improvement very hard to appreciate a lot of the time.
A real lack of towns/NPCs on the surface. Which really is damn dull.
But on the plus side Skyloft in the sky is probably the best town of the Zelda franchise.
None of the different regions on the surface world are interconnected, and you are required to travel by sky to go from one area to another. You can't travel from region of the surface world to a different one. Which sucks.
On the other hand however, the regions and dungeons that do exist on the surface world are pretty neatly crafted. And even incorporate short cuts and other cool stuff for you to find, open, and or uncover.
The way the story is executed makes the game slower.
But the story and characterization is still kind of neat and sweet.
They have you fight a relatively dull bossfight several times over.
But most of the bosses are really quite neat.
And so on and so on.

Skyward Sword actually came with lots of improvements. But I guess that also makes it all the more frustrating how the game had to trip all over itself and take steps backwards with each step forward.
But all things considered. If you can look past its flaws such as the handholding and how the game interrupts you all the time, then there is indeed a lot to appreciate when it comes to the game. But that's of course assumng you can actually deal with the flaws.

We see evidence of a once high-tech society in nearly all of the games released since 2003, but we know nothing of their culture, just that these said societies have collapsed in at least 2 of the timelines. Thanks to this game, now all of the evidence looks like its starting to come together. The Sheikah, a supposedly "extinct" race since even before the days of SS's era, has been responsible-has connections for the following:

In looking at all of this recently I've seen some good theories linking the Gerudo and Twili, like Zant wearing the symbol already when he first meets Ganon. Unless he'd been worshiping him already and that was just their first face to face, I don't remember that cutscene.
But Gerudo using Sheikah tech is a cool thought.

Well if you look closely he's not double jumping or anything, he's just twisting his feet backwards as he brings the shield on his back down to meet his feet, then continuing with the backwards motion rather than trying to change direction and bring his feet back down.
The altitude gain is not real, his head goes under his body and his contracted body extends a little bit as his feet flip up and he jerks his center of gravity up. Also at that moment the ground happens to lower in elevation slightly.
There is some hang time but that seems more like a gameplay mechanic for smoother transitions.

The Guardians in Skyward Sword were built by the gods, and the Guardians in BotW were built by the Sheika. This gives be a wild, almost baseless theory:
What if the gods in Zelda were just humans with technology advanced enough to achieve singularity and the sheika that are still around are the devision that stay around to make sure their work is completed. Speaking of Sheikahs, I have been playing Twilight Princess and I was recently at the hidden village of the Sheikahs of where the only one there was Impa. Impa was also tasked to help the hero of their time to restore power to the Dominion Rod in order to get to city in the sky. Anyone have any speculations to on how this would tie in?
Also I hope BoTW has settlements like that Hidden Village I mentioned but also you occasionally have to clear raiding monsters to save the inhabbitants of the settlement just like what you have to do in TP with clearing the Hidden Village of Blins.

I'm seriously beginning to suspect that this is actually the case.

But here's another question - if that's what the gods, demi-gods and the Sheikah are, then what are demons like Demise, Ghirahim, Majora and the like? Skyward Sword says that one day they just came from underground and started wrecking shit on the surface for the hell of it.
Ghirahim is proof that these said demons also possessed similar technology since he's pretty much a nega-version of the Master Sword; we also know that they're capable of manipulating the laws of reality thanks to Demise's time traveling deal and all of the shit that Majora's capable of doing.
It's always possible that demons are actually a subset of this same hyper-advanced race, but how or why did they become so corrupted to the point that they can destroy worlds and inevitably themselves if they're left unchecked?

How or why would she talk to Link as if he remembers what happened 100 years ago? That would imply that she's also well over a hundred years or so in age. So unless if she was encased in some kind of magic barrier that prevented her from aging like what happened to her Skyward Sword, or had recently just woken up from cyrostasis like Link did, then she would be dead by now.
And thanks to a few clips from loads of the demo footage out there, we also know that Zelda isn't speaking to Link telepathically, but actually through his Sheikah slate. Link looks at his Sheikah slate whenever Zelda is speaking to him in-game; not through some cut scene.
Not only that, but we can see bright light at the center of Hyrule Castle that's managing to keep Calamity Ganon at bay during his reveal cutscene. My first assumption is that Zelda is actually this light.
So, what if Zelda had sacrificed her mortal form to become a sort of super AI to combat calamity Ganon? That we're trying to rid Hyrule of Ganon's AI corruption (as represented by red glowy tech shit) with Zelda's AI protocols (as represented by blue glowy tech shit.)
Imagine finally reaching the castle to save Zelda, only for Zelda to shyly admit that she is everywhere and nowhere through your Sheikah slate? I always had the impression that they were plainly put, Sheikah. As in the vast majority of Sheikah and not just some branch or off shoot.
The Twili appeared to have a really rich and deep culture. And going by Midna's words, there was injustice involved with their banishment. So it's very plausible they didn't even do anything explicit to deserve it, which makes me believe that there is little reason to think of them as odd "evil Sheikah" or anything. Nintendo likes fun right? I'll touch on this point in a minute.
Well aounuma, miyamoto, and tezuka represent the 3 gods of the triforce who created the land of hyrule. Din, nayru, and farore. The triforce is sometimes represented as a super advanced microchip that was created by the 3 gods who created hyrule. Well guess what...these three people took part in making the first Zelda which is why they represent themselves in game as these figures.
Hylia is the goddess (probably representing either yamauchi, Iwata, or Kimishima but that doesn't really matter.) hylia is basically the God above the gods. This is why we haven't heard much about the differences between them because Nintendo doesn't want us to know they're self inserting themselves into Zelda universe for fun. Zelda is a representation of Corporate Nintendo's history.
The Sheikah represent the development team and have full control over what technology is to be used in the game. In the case of hyrule universe you get clues that they exist in an alternate dimension, which is actually the real world.
This is where Link comes in and my theory is proven to be right. Link is supposed to represent the 'link' between the character and the player.
Nintendo is just having fun self inserting themselves into the Zelda universe.
