In Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey, the image of a
Mudokon head on a spike being used as an advertisement for Mudokon Pops was changed to a face on a Popsicle due to an event where students were murdered and decapitated with their heads placed on spikes in front of a Japanese school, the event occurred during the game's development and the devs felt it appropriate to make the change
Similarly, Abe's four fingers were changed to three for the Japanese release due to Japan's sensitivity towards four fingers due to people losing fingers in processing plants
The Mudokon Pops change would stay with rereleases of the games while the four fingers change stayed exclusive to the Japan release
Natsuiro Highschool featured an edit mode where you could pose every character model and take pictures. The nips proceeded to make lewd poses and upload them on the PSN which prompted Sony to disable the upload feature. Tamsoft/D3 responded by releasing a patch that made it so you can't place character models close to each other, making it impossible to make the more lewder poses. You can still delete the patch to do it again, but that disables the upload feature.

Japan also doesn't agree with four fingered characters because people in the Yakuza sometimes have four fingers. It's one of the reasons lots of characters in Ratchet and Clank have either 2, 3 or 5 fingers/toes.

I think the changes existing in future titles makes it much better as a comparison between games, even though RuptureFarms was destroyed in the end of Oddysee as it's a much friendlier advertisement similar to the Meech Munchies and Paramite Pies ones, suggesting that the Glukkons are still marketing their products extensively.

Rayman's shirt changed into Blue in Japan version as Purple is often symbolised as death or evil. So having him with a Purple shirt could've made Rayman seem as a anti-hero.

It was in MGS4. In MGR the cyborgs used a new type of blood that was red (just so they could have more gore I'm sure), but in the Japanese version it was white because you can't have too much red blood in nipponland.
I heard it makes Sam's death scene more impactful because you realize he's human when you cut him open and he has red blood instead of white cyborg blood like all the enemies you have been killing.

The one on the left is from the original game and the one on the right is from the New n' Tasty remake.
The reasoning for the change was that all the other food posters were cartoony and goofy looking whilst the Mudokon Pops one was just violent imagery. They changed it in the remake to fit the style of the other posters from the original.
