Why do the special effects look so shitty?
Games like Vesperia and Abyss were super flashy without looking shitty. Even the Xillia games had decent effects if I remember correctly. A lot of the spells and attacks in the PV are some of the blandest shit I've seen in a Tales.

I'm not that big on Star Ocean but based off my terrible experience with Last Hope, I don't know what to think of it. The combat seems fine enough, but I don't want vast fields of nothing but mobs and annoying dungeon design.
