Legfes when the SSR rates are doubled or during a special event such as summer gacha (might be at the same time as legfes too).
The game has good art, but the gameplay is pretty damn stale. Every battle is usually the old DPS race to death which leads to not much variety in the special plans. Unfortunately, I don't put much thoughts in to what I do for each battle comapred to Puzzles & Dragons where I found myself consulting several fucking databases, literally writing out plans for each turn, and spending a good damn hour figuring out my next move.
Story is meh, considering they fucking shove a damn battle into every cutscene and it's the usual good vs. government bullshit. Pretty much every section of the story feels isolated from each other as it follows a formula of
We're here, oh shit there's a problem here, ok we solved the problem, moving on!"
The game overall, has a surprisingly large amount of effort put into it, although it doesn't really make up for it considering it does the usual mobile shit.

Characters and rare summons are what you roll for. Characters expand your toolkit with their skills which you bring to a fight, while summons give useful boosts. Neither are absolutely necessary to be able to play as its your weapon pool which determines your power, but having good characters and decent summons help grinding for weapon drops much easier.

It's extremely easy to pick up, not that challenging, you hardly ever "lose", art/waifus/music are decent and it is addicting. That's all you need to be popular in Japan nowadays.

Most of the power in this game comes from the grind, not the characters, and oh boy is there a lot of grind.
That said, a little bit of money goes a long way in this game. They occasionally let you buy a character straight up, and while 30 bucks for a digital character is kind of pricey and pushes things towards P2W bullshit, this does make the rate infinitely better than any other IAP game. Whaling is unadvised though, 30 bucks every 2 months is a nice advantage but 300 bucks a month will net you jack shit, you could say that it's an IAP game with diminishing returns.
