The prologue has been out since early 2014-ish. It's basically a prototype of the game, and a lot of features are gimped and the art style's different. If you pre-ordered it through Itch.io, it should be on your download page I think?

And really, the devs seem pretty laid back about stuff. They originated from the game dev general on 4chan, and they've been on record that if you can't afford the game, they're fine with you pirating it. That doesn't change the fact that you should put some money their way if you like what you see.

The gameplay in the prologue was kind of dumb - serving the same drinks to the same damn dogs over and over again was boring as shit - but the conversations with the customers was pretty cozy and it's basically what sold me on the game. Despite them marketing it around the cute anime girls and the awesome soundtrack (which has been posted here), the game's settings interest me. Since the devs live in Venezuela I believe they have a unique perspective on what it's like to live in a dystopia, and that influence seems to have been put into the game. The game seems to be a way to explore that setting from a perspective other than "badass trenchcoat wearing hacker fights the megacorps". You just play as a bartender, taking in stories from the people who live in that city. I can't speak to its execution yet, since the game's not released, but the dialogue from the prologue and the demo felt to me like they had potential.
I feel like this game is going to go places and I'm willing to spend money to bet on that.

You're a bartender in a dystopian sci-fi future, and you serve drinks to people and talk to them about their stories, which flesh out the setting around you. The core focus is on the atmosphere of a small, run-down bar in an oppressive setting, where these people come to get away from it all and get drunk.
There's also some mini-games between shifts - you can buy stuff to decorate your room, and you can drink with your boss and have conversations with her that change slightly depending on how drunk you get.

Imagine going to a bakery and having to ask if they have bread and then receive a no for an answer. Sound unimaginable, right? Well, that's my daily life here.
But wait, there's more. Imagine that when there's bread you have to make lines for it, and the lines can easily be of over 100 people. And you can only buy whatever amount they allow per person, usually two.
The biggest issue with food is super basic products like rice, pasta, flour, sugar, milk, etc. The same method I described for bread is how those products are sold when stores stock them except 10 times worse with people making lines from the day before just so they can have a chance to buy. Also, you can only buy per ID number. Example: I can only buy the Wednesdays because my ID ends in 4 and Wednesday is the day for number 4 people.
The bakery thing you mention is most likely about the looting/riot that happened about 1 or 2 weeks ago on a certain area of the capital that went on all the night and one of the most popular news about that event was one bakery that got broken into and everything on it looted.
And that's without mentioning how everything is super expensive thanks to the hyperinflation.

I'm on the Capital. Electricity is not being rationed here. Despite evidence to the contrary, the government is not stupid. They know that if they fuck-up the capital people will start shit. The opposition here is full of pussies whose main belief is to do things "by the book" even when everyone knows it'll never amount to anything thanks to the super duper corrupt government. Example, they wanna do the recall referendum this year. What did the government do? Make all public offices work only 2 days per week with the excuse of electricity rationing to stall the balloting process. Why the stalling? Well, because if the recall doesn't go this year but the next the current vice-president will become the new president unlike if it were done this year where all the current administration would get kicked out.
It's very one-sided because one side is willing to play dirty and the other does not.

I think it's possible that there's a baseline level of conflict humans need to have.No matter how good things are, people will always find things, invent them, even, to sustain this level of conflict.
You'll even notice this in rural vs. city people here. When you're farming, you're struggling against the land enough that you don't need to seek out things to be offended by and argue against.

That's not as true as it could be. I'm not convinced that "people are worse off other places" delegitimizes attempting to fix any of the issues we do have here. There are people who need to be helped here, still.
