There has to be something, considering they've stated that the demo has no connection to the main game, and there's a ton of scenes from the Desolation trailer and all the quick cuts from the reveal itself not in the demo. Whether or not you can actually access these at the moment, no one really knows. I doubt Capcom would go through all of that effort just for a trailer, so either there's something more to this demo or they lied about it having no connection to the main game.

This is what I'm thinking. People have been trying to find something new for 72 hours straight by now. NOTHING they'd put in the game could be that obscure. PT was that obscure, yes, but that was Kojima, and the events in PT weren't clear as day up until the end. When you are back in the real world however, the locked drawer of the present is now open and the player can get the axe. I think that's all there is to it. My toughts are that Hillbilly Joe worked at Umbrella but he retired and went to his backwoods home with his family. But yeah the game is definitely pretty good on that end. Hearing random noises, seeing shit move, and random pop ups never really got old.
