I don't know, m80. I am playing it on PC and it already has no replay value. I've talked to a lot of people (around 100 - 110) and a lot of them feel the same.
Maybe it's better on console? I don't know. The skill ceiling is just so low. It's just really not fun.
Of the 100/110 people I know who bought it on launch day, along with me, only about 12 of them are still playing it.

The big influx of recent negative reviews are towards the latest patches, which changed enemy resistances to absurd levels. A lot of it is gamebreaking, such as this anon here >>341548735 stated (Firebugs are meant to be crowd killers, and crawlers are the trash enemies in the game that give experience to Firebugs, but now crawlers have high resistance to fire).
Another reason for the massive amount of negative reviews is due to censorship. I am not kidding, the development team has been banning people from the Steam Community forums for saying anything remotely negative. This and other PR related actions don't help a game that is falling apart at the seams.
The overall game itself does not give fans of the first game what they wanted. I could explain it a lot more but they basically fucked up.

Consolized wheel selection, way less options in voicecommands, ruining so many weapon designs by changing their sounds or looks too much. Most of the pistols look like garbage with their overdesign like carvings on the side or the wasted away steel colours. LAR, Hunting shotgun and most pistols in particular look shit now.
And as for voices, yea, all they had to do was reuse all the KF1 voices and add new ones in the same bad voice acting british as fuck comedic kinda way, but instead we get serious voices.
The truly sad thing is that the parts the game does right, it does insanely right, such as gun feel for the most part, motioncaptured everything, dismembering and gore mechanics etc, but the bad just constantly reminds you you could be playing KF1 instead

But, I want to believe. All they need to do is make the mission shit optional (you need to go through it to access the lower floors, I think), and start pumping out content updates. Revamp the HUD (as it's shit and runs the way it looks), expand on the dungeon gameplay with more environments, bosses, and maybe even some kind of raid-like dungeon where a bunch of people match up to take down bossesor maybe even a giant dungeon where four-man groups have to go through different parts of a dungeon, and have to progress to let the other groups through.
I don't know, but I hope to god they pull it off. It's possible, but it's just going to take time, effort, and a bit oflovefor them to pull it off.

no, it has a collection of about 300 active players at any time. the reason people get kicked is not so obvious. once the game came to steam, tiers were removed, as were dedicated servers. so servers are run by the users, less than tier 3 being the majority (of four tiers, tier 4 being highest tier), so every server outside a handful ban anyone over a certain elo, usually something like 1700. therefore, the few servers people over 1700 elo can join, skilled players collect there, and expect newer players to join the mass of capped servers because of all this. obviously newer players aren't going to fucking know and i think all in all people who kick because player skill are the worst, even moreso than people shitting on their teams

That's all I did when I last played, too. Unfortunately, it's one of the only fun things to do in the game once you get into big ships.
Try to go outside the starter areas (even powerplay capitals, or rare trade stops), and it's dead as a doornail. Allowing people to freely switch between open and solo modes (and affect the galaxy in both) was Frontier's biggest mistake by far.

Online is broken, so I imagine people are playing the relatively short and rushed game and leaving.
Auto-summon covenants don't work for most people, and invading heavily favors ganker worlds. On top of that invaders are at a health and estus disadvantage, and can have all the enemies turned against them that would normally be the natural defense against them. You also can't invade in areas that the boss has been defeated once again, so pvp areas are limited.
Poise flat out doesn't work anymore, you can wear full armor and get staggered by daggers and other weak weapons.
All of it adds up to a pretty smooth first run of the game, but quite a bit less replay value than you would expect.

GunZ 1 was shut down because it was literally hacker central and despite still being up in most places around the world it hadn't been updated in well over like 4 years when it got killed finally. The final nail in the coffin was gunz 2 releasing, which was a total failure in every sense of the word. KR servers are dead, I mean, ~15 people on during peak hours dead, and I don't know if anyone plays the global servers since they put chinese russian and american players all together. Looking at the steam page though it hasn't been updated since september of last year. And that was just a basic maintenance, so maybe even longer. Either way the game has been abandoned.
Sad stuff. But GunZ1 wasn't gonna be improved any further, and anyone who still wanted to play it had moved on to pservers long ago where you didn't have to worry about faggots paying 2 win because everyone got the same hilariously OP shotties.

Protip:neople is a developer owned 100% by nexon, DFO is literally run by nexon, you are lying to yourself if you think otherwise. It's not run by nexon NA, of course, which is the big deal, it's what is allowing it to stay alive. Although not very well, it's hemorrhaging players at an insane rate.
Anyway it's even less likely for vindictus to get brought back if it's shut down because the developer for it, beyond being owned by nexon was absorbed in its entirety by nexon, like Wizet, and exists only in name.
Really the best option is to just play on the korean servers. Just like DnF/DFO anybody who was interested in playing the game without dealing with nexon NA's faggot practices moved to the KR version years ago. I mean, I remember when DFO was first announced, everyone moved over, literally 200+ people in various guilds on DnF just shut down overnight, and within a week they were all filled, plus an extra 150+ people so much so that we had to make a new guild.
