Oh, that! I don't want to spoil too much because it was fun and I recommend going, but there were a lot of team based puzzles that all wrap together really cleanly. They have an intro where Clover speaks to you that kinda establishes it as "canon" in a way, and a few references in the rooms, either from name-drops or objects. Other than that, the puzzle didn't seem too "ZE-ish", but it was really cool and had a lot of environmental and positioning puzzles that are AMAZING once you figure them out. If the event ends and they don't expand it, I will speak more about it, but you should go if you get the chance! You get to wear a VLR watch for the puzzle, but it's a little lower quality than the official ones. I played in the first showing though, and apparently they added new shit, like character stands and stuff like that, so there might be more I don't know about.

Vita looks nicer, but has lip syncing issues. It also has dual audio though and 3 save slots.
3DS has two screen functionality, which can be quite helpful in taking notes and accessing menus a lot easier. However, there is a save bug when saving in puzzle rooms and only one save slot, the biggest offender being the PEC room.
If you're paranoid about the save bug go with the Vita. If not, then just go with your preferred system.

Anyways...Other than the puzzles (and who really cares about those), every aspect of this game is much worse than the two others, by far. Uchi let us down.Nope, the clock isn't a red herring. Junpei is Zero. It is horribly obvious the whole game and it leads you to think that it's just a coincedence/red herring but he is Zero. It's more obvious and a less compelling twist then revealing that fucking Dio was evil after you've seen him murder half the cast several times over. His reasons for being Zero are dumb and boring, and so is his character. Brother is Junpei is Zero, who time-traveled accidentally using a secret esper technique into the past trying to find Akane and lived out a new life as Brother. He regains his memory years later and vows to take his revenge on Akane, who doesn't know his true nature. Akane is portrayed in this game as unironically completely not evil. After ZTD bad ending, Junpei realizes the errors of his ways and saves a young child (Quark), but a "new Brother" takes his place (David, AKA the real villain) who travels through time and is also monitoring the game (but isn't Zero).The dog is a robot dog.The worst twist of all, Q is actually younger Yotsuba. This twist is surprising but incredibly boring/hamfisted. Plus, we REALLY didn't need her a third time.
