It looks good so far but we obviously haven't seen much real gameplay.
Insomniac's writers can be pretty good, with the limits of how edgy the can be because of it being Spiderman I think we'll see decent humor. Beyond that, what really matters is how full the world is, and the variety of bosses/villains. It could have great core gameplay, but if you're not utilizing it then the game will be a drag.
Honestly, probably the game I'm most hyped about. I really hope they get the web swinging right. Did anyone recognise the voice actor?

Sunset overdrive is a piece of shit, but that's 80% because of the reddit humor and 20% awful weapon wheel. I seriously don't think I've played a game with more insufferable dialog. Hopefully this game has neither of those things.

I've never been disappointed by a spiderman game.
As long as it is fast and fluid, with alot of random shit to do, I'm sold. The joy of just zipping around and fighting thugs/ stopping crimes is what the main appeal is for me.
It looks preety fast compared to the ps2 titles. I'm really hoping the controls are smooth enough for some fast paced races and chases without just swinging into a wall for no reason.
I'd be hyped if they added the double web swinging system for more cool shit, as apposed to just a single "web swing button." Make left and right triggers their own web line for advanced swings and shit.

I just don't want the city to feel mepty. It's fucking Marvel New York. ASM1 had the crimes but once you ran out of those the city was dead. ASM2 had more things to do but you were punished of you didnt do them whic sucked. I don't remember much of SM2 but I kow you could make diliveries and stop crimes, and help kids get their baloons back like all the time. I actually like the idea of renegade spiderman. A big deciding factor in superhero media is whether they are seen as lawful good, or a vigilante. It seems most games put you on the same side/ working with the law; that isnt the case for all super heroes and would be interesting to explore.

The new movie is confirmed NOT to be an origin story, actually.
Don't usually support tie-ins but this one is very promising. Stan Lee may get to see Spiderman become massive again at least in games, like Batman after the Dark Knight films and the Avengers after the movies.
Fast, fluid and smart gameplay without relying on physical strength sometimes? In the trailer Spidey used his web to tie a goon up and let momentum pull the guy out of a car.

I actually thought it was the best Marvel movie so far. It's pretty great all around. I would recommend watching it before shitting on it.
Also Spidey's less of a cameo, he's a major character to the film's most energetic part. He's on screen for a good 15-20 mins. He was the best part because he was so striking and unexpected.

It would be neat to have adjustable and upgradable web shooters.
Light Webbing: comes out faster,uses less fluid, but more easily broken.

Gwen's death was definitely a plus for MJ's character development. But the thing is comic writers have had ample opportunity to inject some life into Gwen's personality and failed EVERY SINGLE TIME. Only the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon made an interesting Gwen and they only did that by ripping out the entirety of her comic personality and making her the nerdy best friend. Every other attempt has been an abject failure while MJ has had a long and storied history of both highs and lows as a character. For every shit MJ moment you can find at least one if not several good moments, while Comics Gwen is so consistently misused you're most likely to get a groan from the reader if they hear she's involved in an arc somehow.

On top of costumes? I would love to see a "skill tree" of some sort. So that people can play and swing the way they want to. Maybe if someone wants to implement webs into fighting more then a "spider-sense" element? Then you CAN do that.
All in all,I just everything to be A LOT more fleshed out for months of replay value from this game. Spider-man had SO MUCH potential I pray they do him some justice this time around.

Her origin is kind of crap, but the character shines through it with the new writer. Especially since the dumb Dan Slott shit has been dropped for everything else. She's also an intern, and while potential more powerful than Spider-Man, (better spider sense + faster, but she's not as strong) her powers are closely tied to her emotions and she's a wreck for 90% of the comic. Her solo works a lot on youthful anxieties, running away from your problems, the crisis between what you want to be and what you are, it's pretty well done if not too cutesy at times.
