If they do integrate with the Xbox app then maybe it will be better, but currently it just isn't worth using.
There are basic features that just aren't there that make it an annoyance than practical.
You have to use the control panel to dictate where apps/games install, but you can't set multiple libraries, so if I want to install Killer Instinct on my SSD and Forza on my HDD, I have to change the install location multiple times outside of the app.

Since this is a Dead Rising thread, I've got to ask: how do I max out the PP I get from photos? Even with magazines I can't get more than a few hundred PP from a particularly Brutal or Outtake photo. I've tried things like whipping registers at zombies head and catching the scene of it getting caved in through a quick snapshot, but that alone is just a mildly Brutal scene. What makes a shot better?

Dead Rising's most ridiculous weapon out of the Real version of the Toys was just seeing Frank handle a .50 cal on his own. 2 has more of a structured Story Mode. Everything just feels like it has a bit more of a purpose to it. TiR is also something I dearly miss from Off the Record, so the game overall holds its own merit.
But overall, I'd say grab Off the Record. There's numerous gameplay fixes that make for the best Dead Rising experience mechanically. Then there are some plot points that make more sense, such as how they treat CURE in Off the Record. The ending gets a bit ridiculous, but overall it's a great game and beat DR2 in every fashion of gameplay. It's also worth it to have Frank's take on the situation as a cocky jackass.
So if the idea of Chuck and his story is appealing, then I'd say go with that, but Off the Record stands stronger from a gameplay stance.

It's 5 years after the zombie cure has been released. As an anniversary event and to make money to get his own cure injection, Frank flies back into Willamette to shoot a film about the first zombie outbreak, taking his new protege with him to report on the event. He also reconnects with Chuck after basically being estranged for the past 15 years, but this turns out just to be a ploy to get Nick on the scene because he's the one who bore the cure, and Frank knew he'd be able to get him in via Chuck's daughter, Katey.
While everyone is arguing, screams are let out and a new outbreak happens in Willamette. Wondering how the hell a new one happened, Frank and the rest band together to find out the cause of the situation.
The end of the game will reveal Isabelle at the core of it, turned psychotic in her hopes to redeem the family name. Seeing Frank garner more fame off the incident that damned her and Carlitos was too much, so she used her Phenotrans connections to get enough zombies into Willamette and start an outbreak faster than what can be contained. Ending Chuck Greene and Nick is just the cherry on top.
Then it'll fade out with a shot of zombies escaping the quarantine, leading to more infections across the US.

Everything sounded good until Isabella going apeshit. That sounds even more forced than getting the entire gang in one game, but I've never bothered with 3 and she's apparently a big part of that at the end.
It is true that there aren't really any big villains left for the series though, but there's zero way they could pull her off as being the villain unless they direct it well, which they cannot possibly do. Protoge will probably be evil though, undoubtedly.

Isabelle was already a psychopath circa DR3 ending. It also doesn't matter if you have a cure for zombies if thousands are already shambling around, not to mention the fact that the cure should only work on the infected, not rotting zombies. If there's an outbreak, there's not going to be many left to cure anyway.
And there's the fact that Phenotrans is who's making the cure, and we all remember how cheap and available Zombrex was ;^)
