There kind of is, though. You've got access to Duke Fishron the moment you start Hardmode. After one mechanical boss, you've got Pumpkin Moon. You can do pirates at any point, and summoning Goblins gives you the Summoner in hardmode, with equipment for each class sans summoner. The Giant Mimics yield all sorts of shit, and you can fish out a melee weapon from crimson, an infinite ammo gun from corruption, and a magic frag shot from hallow. You can go hardmode summoner from spiders, or also from pumpkin moon. Once you beat Plantera, you've got the option of the temple, option of the dungeon, and the option of frost moon. And then there's the Solar Eclipse that shows up to slap your shit at any point after you beat even one mech boss.
There's tons of content, tons of optional progression directions, lots of ways to challenge yourself by breaking the established order.

Either give Vortex armour a dedicated stealth mode bind that isn't reliant on being your down key, or give it some kind of decoy with half your health that draws away half of the aggro on you that, if you turn off stealth mode will deal damage equal to how much health it had lost plus knockback in a small area, but if it's killed then you'll be forced out of stealth and suffer a Short-Circuit debuff with a 10% movespeed reduction plus 5% more damage taken for 5 seconds, in addition to not being able to enter stealth mode again until your armour 'reboots'.

When going summoner, play it like it's a multi-class hybrid where you can use any weapons.
When playing Ranged, don't neglect bows, or darts, or flamethrowers, or explosives. It's the best way to expand your offensive capabilities.
Dart guns in particular are very, very good. Crystal Bullets are fuckin insane.
