Why are reviewers so fucking bad at video games?
I've read One piece for about 14 years now, I'm a big fan, so i bought this game solely because of that.
what i got was so much more, i feel like I have Marvel vs. Capcom 2 mixed with Ultimate Ninja here.
The roster is huge with a ridiculous amount of character synergy and team building importance. Every single character reacts to another in a unique way and strategizing around that is huge.
Not only that but FUCKING COMBO EXECUTION IS KEY. Which for an anime game i would never come to expect.

Anyone else having these experiences or does no one here want to talk about it until the PC players can pirate the game?

Name ONE low reviewed game that was actually good.
I really like the game and think it's really good but it's not like I expected it to do super well with reviews. All the single player stuff is hard as hell and as deep as the combat can get it doesn't explain all that stuff very well to people you don't go digging. The support system is confusing to people who don't pay attention either. Only thing I don't like is people who clearly haven't played it calling it J-stars 2.0 or some stupid shit which is a complete incorrect statement

I reviewed the game for an italian megazine.
Gave it a 6.5.
The story mode is absolute shit, it only has Marineford repated 4 fucking times.
The gameplay, while having cool effects and special moves, is pants on head retarded, and a guard break followed by mashing square will go a long way, also every combo gets interrupted by fucking cinematic skits showing their goddamn faces screaming like retards.
There is absolutely no balance and characters that react to each other are not very common, just Sanji reacting to girls.

Your video is basic Dynasty Warriors combat with character switching, which is something that Warriors Orochi did a long time ago. The analysis of MvC2 + Naruto is probably accurate, although that isn't exactly a recommendation towards the game's depth. I think you might want to understand why MvC2 is considered good, or at least read a few of these reviews, before talking about skill caps or poor reviewer skills.
Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm a fan of the Musou games as well. Most reviewers are full of shit and will score them poorly due to being "unoriginal". If you enjoy the game, then great! There are other One Piece Musou games out there as well, although I've not played them to know the differences.
But at the very least, most of these reviewers can at least acknowledge that the scores are due to repetitive gameplay and not much variety in combat. It's rather stupid that RPGs and the Gone Homes get 90s for having the exact same thing, but at least they do a typical decent job of describing what the game does.
And given that I can typically find a cheap stun or infinite combo in most of these Musou games, don't think that some sort of 12-hit combo burning two super musous means anything.

But most of the websites publish their review as soon as the embargo is over, to be among the first ones that people will visit. They don't really have the time to write reviews following a bandwagon.

It's not always like that. Each time a Souls is almost released, for example, there are huge group chats where dozens of reviewers use to share what they found, the secret areas location, some key elements etc.
Because otherwise it's literally impossible to complete a brand new Soul (without internet support) while seeing all that it has to offer in a week, and it's impossible (if you're a decent critic, AKA if English isn't your first language) to write a review if you didn't see at least almost the whole content offered.

Fishman Island is really good, I'd argue it's a top 5 arc but no one seems to like it as much as I do. Zou is still part of whatever arc is going on now.

It's as kusoge anon. Good package, looks good, plenty of references, everything is done for the player to feel at home. But at their cores, games made for fans aren't thought to be balanced or to be played more a few dozen hours. They are usually weak fighting game. Just having Sanji unable to fight women and Luffy being insensible to Boa's hypnosis, are nice, but are part of why you can't play it very seriously.

One Piece's quality managed to stay consistent 9with slight ups and downs here and there) for the amount of years its been in publication.
Compared to all other big name mangas liek Bleach, Naruto, SnK, etc as they've all turn to shit. One Piece has been nearing 20 years and even though it's not a fantastic manga or a breakthrough, it still stays good and probably will continue to be good for the next 20 years of publication.

Things like video game reviewing - which on its surface would appear to be a wildly varied concept involving extremely subjective opinions - becomes essentially a circlejerk within an echochamber due to the way internet forums/comments/etc operate.
I realize that's a lot of jargon, but basically i'm saying that while the internet is amazing, it has NOT helped video game reviews become better or even more constructive. It has led to quite the opposite.
This doesn't mean all video game reviews are bad, but it does mean a grain of salt is always necessary and tends to invalidate any sort of metascore. I'd even go so far as to say most reviews are worthless at this point, which is really really unfortunate.
Add to that money being involved, ad revenue, obvious cases of clearly "unqualified" reviewers, the social outrage of the week, etc, and it's all quite a bit more complex than something as fun as video games requires.
