Those were all handheld titles, the GBA ones went out of their way to shake things up, K had a rather unique cast, and L actually went out of its way to reanimate returning series, like Mazinkaiser and Endless Waltz.
Here, the only series we can expect new animations from are ZZ, Nadesico, Crossbone, Might Gaine, Cross Ange, Yamato, and Shin Mazinger Zero. That's not even a third of the cast.

Simple. Gundam as a show with large robots works as a SRW title because it's normal in its continuities and SRW. We're not talking here about Gunpla, but we're talking here about real robots made out of steel and circuitry instead of plastic models that come alive via advanced tech.
Gunpla in its own reality isn't like Gundam. Sure there are Gundams and other MSs, but this is closest we have to real life...but with plastic models turned alive via tech.
And that's one of the differences. That Gunpla differs too much from other Gundam series. In any Gundam show a giant bot would be the norm while Gunpla's setting is too real-life.
Unless, and that's my personal opinion, they'd have to change it so much in order to FIT IN. Like making Sei an actual MS Engineer that makes tons of MSs instead of a Gunpla modeller or something like that.
Still it wouldn't fit in without some extreme alterations that would take away the charm from Gunpla. That, or make the other shows closer to Gunpla.

There are some fantranslated SRW if you want to try them before MG or V release. Alpha Gaiden on PS1, J on GBA, 2ndSRW on NES (but the gameplay is very different compared to how the "modern SRW" play)
SRW OG1 & 2 on GBA were translated officially, and while they only have original characters I found them pretty good, and are probably the best starting point to learn the game as J and Gaiden can scare away new players in certain stages.
