Why did fan projects suddenly become grounds for autism with people now?
Star wars had awesome fan tributes back in the 80's The sand trooper chronicles, The ewok movie, space balls etc.
Dr Who and Star trek were huge too, nobody batted an eye when someone wanted to make a fan movie or a short film, or what.
Nowadays its like people shudder at the idea of someone doing a fan project, because they'll put pregnancy fetishes into it or something.
I kinda check their website every month or two to see if they're still alive. They seem to go through music people a lot if you've noticed. Snobodies, Shane Mesa, like 3 other people I forgot the names of.
I'm not particularly bothered by the game's name because I'm not autistic. Itoi is done and does not give a shit so it can be called whatever.
The game will come out and probably have a good look and sound, but be a mess of a game. Like it'll probably have a lame story, bad writing, grammatical/spelling errors that survive multiple editing cleanups, poorly balanced gameplay (too easy or too hard or just broken in general), etc.
So in otherwords it'll be entirely typical one way or another. It'll either be the typical fangame that implodes before release due to drama (I guarantee there is some A+ tier autism drama that will come out after the face) or releases and gets a month or two in the eye of the internet before being largely forgotten.
It's not really worth getting worked up about. Just check in on it every few months if you're ambivalent or hate it. If you're the latter, hope it implodes and that it's funny. Getting weewee'd up about it is embarrassing.

Can one of you anons please, rationally, explain to me why the devs don't want to own their own work? Just because this started as a fan-game doesn't mean they have to keep it a fan-game.
