The battle system was alright and the setting was okay. But everything else is poorly made. I WANT to like the game, but I just can't.

It was a wide image (at least wide in the 1024x768 era), but I can't really recall any major details about the pose or anything. She was angled to fill the image somewhat diagonally, I believe. All of them have essentially the same post-apocalyptic grimdark story, with changes in the 'era.'
In the first game, you're playing as one of the original, actual dragon lords, in a time of magic and greatness. You routinely fuck shit up, and battling demons and inside peoples' dreams ain't shit to you, because that's tuesday in BOF.
Second game, you're a dragon baby who wandered out of the village put on top of the devil to keep him from ruining the world. You have dragon powers, but they're not special. You fight one ancient enemy and the devil, but that's it.
Third game, you're a frozen, long lost low level dragon child far, far away from home, and your dragon powers, while wild and underdeveloped, are easily the most magical shit you'll see for half the game, then you find out that you're a pussy compared to what came before you, and only ancient power can bring you and all your team mates on par with the last boss.
You should probably start with the third game, because it's far more contemporary and modern, then do the rest in whatever order you feel like. They're all pretty great, at least now that there's a fan translation for the second game.
