99% of most anime is garbage, but so much has been made there's at least around 100-150 truly good series and about 50-100 truly good movies. And OVAs, plenty of good OVAs.

MMX and MMZ both had SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER dash mechanics than this game, and this one is apparently focusing on fucking dashing.
Firstly, they're requiring two steps to kill enemies. You gotta shoot / tag them first, then dash into them. Complete shit design, since it pretty much forces the character to approach the level in a single way with no REAL freedom, but it's workable. That is, so long as the motion's fluid. It's fluid right? What's that? You can't dash AND shoot at the same time? If you want to shoot you have to wait for your dash to stop?
Seriously, what the fuck.
They already removed as much freedom as they could from gameplay, and now they're ruining the fucking fluidity of the games. The MMX and MMZ series both REWARDED the player for mastering the dash + shoot mechanic by increasing the damage of the shot. If a standing shot (uncharged or charged) did X damage, a dash shot would do 1.5X or 2X damage depending on the game. This game just fucking says "NOPE, STAND STILL SO WE CAN ARTIFICIALLY PAD THE FUCKING GAME".
I know this game has looked like shit, sounds like shit, plays like shit, and the whole development process has been shit.
But it still fucking baffling how they can fuck up something so fundamental. Like, has absolutely NO one on the whole goddamn development team actually played their own fucking game? Have any of them ever played ANY fucking game?

Especially since that game was trying to be a "Spiritual Successor" to Megaman Zero, and it's only half as good.
The "Tag" mechanic ruins the fluidity of the game as much as the "Shoot then Dash" mechanic of Might No.9 - they're almost the same thing.
Luckily for AzSG, it gives you a screen clearing weapon and floating to make the rest of the level actually fun, but any time you NEED to engage in combat it's more of a chore than actually something you look forward to.
Azure Striker Gunvolt is to Mega Man Zero what Mighty No. 9 is to Classic Mega Man.
ASG just lucked out because it had an amazing base game to work with, so it ended up getting downgraded from amazing to decent. MN9 only had a good game to work with, which means it should only have been downgraded from good to bad, but with Inafune and all his shit decisions it got downgraded to fucking god-awful.

Yooka's team is made up of actual devs for Banjo Kazooie and DK64, so when/if that blows up in everyone's faces, it'll be real proof that the actual devs for real (good and fun) games have absolutely NO project management skills and can't be trusted.

The funny part is, they HAD a unique gimmick in the original ideas. Absorbing regular enemies to change Beck's form is something they could have used and was unique enough to not make it a complete clone.
Have parts of a stage where there's spikes or something so you have to transform into tank tracks Beck to pass through. Have fake walls that you can only destroy with Hammer Beck. They could have made it like the old Sonic games where a map has multiple paths you can take, but each haveing a different combination of traps and transformations, I dunno.
But no, they scrapped that because MUH DASH.

Inaba has very little to do with game development now. He just greenlights shit and deals with managerial stuff most of the day, which there's lots of. He's a good businessman, but he's mainly just a businessman.
Which is what Inafune was and pretty much still is, it's just he has worse managerial sense and is really bad at hiring teams.And to top it off, Atsushi actually HAS helped to develop Ace Attorney (programming and design wise), Okami, and Viewtiful Joe. Inafune hasn't helped to develop fuck all.
Maybe one day, many years from now, we'll find out some horrible truth about what the fuck went wrong with this game.
Why after almost 2 years it just went completely unpolished, it's UI unchanged from fucking alpha testing.

He's literally JUST the producer for the series you mentioned, and most others he's credited on.
He greenlights the lead director's proposal after the lead designer drafts the idea, and lets them go. He doesn't actually do anything other than occasionally check up on progress and ensure everything in the game will fly with the target audience.
Miyamoto's also a producer, and he's cranking out 5-8 games a year. You really think he's actually working on all these games? No, he "produces" ~80% of the games he's credited on, while "supervising" 15% of them, and actually "directing" 5%. The games he produces he just greenlights and checks up on progress, and that's pretty much it.
Without Inafune, the ACTUAL creators of Onimusha and Dead Rising would have only had to go to another one of the suits in Capcom and ask if they would produce the game. It's very unlikely that in a company of ~3000 employees Inafune was the only one who would have said yes.
