3 years in a maximum security prision. No outside communication, no cell mate. You get one video game (no games that require an internet connection) and one device to play it. The device will only play the game, so no internet, art programs, etc. This will be your only entertainment besides a pen, paper, and books from a shitty tax-funded library.
What game do you pick?
Xcom or ftl
>>338659318
Easy. Tetris.
>>338659318
Minecraft or dwarf fortress.
Dorf Fort or Factorio
I feel like Animal Crossing just because you have things to look forward to each month. Would help you stay sane, although I don't know if there is enough stuff to do each day.
Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon.
Something that simulates discussion and company.
I can't think of a game that has almost infinite replayability and at the same time is always interesting
>>338659318
Xcom

Homm 3
>>338659318
Offline Garrysmod, provided that you get to install the crucial addons and/or make your own.
Otherwise... I hate to say it but probably minecraft or something like that. 3 years is a hell of a long time to stay isolated so it will be of little consolation anyway.
Bloodborne probably
Multiple routes per playthrough, challenge runs, different builds plus infinite chalice dungeons
Doesn't matter, you'll go insane after a few weeks in solitary. So before that happens, I'll say Shenmue.
Isn't there a collection "game" that has tons of games packed into one "game?" Like, "Arcade Collection" that includes every single arcade video game from the past 30 years but because each file is so small, it only counts as one disc/game.
I mean, Super Smash Brothers 4 has 10 minute trial versions of all the characters' classic games in it as mini-games, for example.
Some kind of bizarrely in-depth simulator. Basically treat it like a job, hopefully the routine of it would stop you from going crazy.
>>338659318
Although unreleased, I would go with Dreams for ps4. With that much time, i might end making a game myself
Paper Mario TTYD
Mount and Blade
The original Animal Crossing had several NES games to play. So it's win-win.

I already have 3500 characters, and spent 2 years on one map, filled with storylines.
But in the situation OP described, I would create a massive world within terraria, different factions, cults, mafia enterprises, mega corporation, a complete financial system, race wars, corporate wars, nation-wars.
Democracy, plutocracy, mage-ocracy, evil lore, heavenly lore.
Would be nice. Also jews would be feautured, using real economic models to control a large chunk of the economy. Imagine the math being scribbled down on notepads just for these theroems.

Easy answer. FFT.
Between the SCC and Double Dare, I've got 778 potential playthroughs, of which there are hundreds which are viable and don't require savestate RNG grinding in order to complete.
By the time I'm due to be released, I'll be asking for another two weeks to finish my Ninja SCC.
Dorf or Aurora 4X, both have almost unlimited possibilities and with that being my only form of entertainment my autism would surpass even /v/'s.
This is the one time when skyrim with the sex mods is the right answer
>>338662827
I make them Hardcore mode, choose which nation they belong to and which race.
Then they either get to mine for one of the corporations which takes 80% of the profit, or they can find their own way to make money, which is really hard.
Some character live, other characters die. Some joins criminal organizations, or join mercenary leagues. Others "invent" new things, buys properties and start shops.
I make alot of my characters based on historical figures etc but alot of commoners rising up. Its very exciting, I'm just afraid that my body is slowly rotting and i'm aging while I mentally live in the Terraria world. I wish i could stop time.

Recently the well established Italian Mafia, who were the first to root themselves in Shady Sands Kingdom, got almost completly destroyed by the Black Unified League (they are nigger gangbangers).
Shady Sands Kingdom millitary forces had to declare Martial Law, which is the first intervention from the ruling class of the city, as they mostly let the local police handle any criminal events.

Logical riddles require assumption of arguments to reach a conclusion. Technically, I already "answered" this question, as many others have, by citing games that contain many other games by way of mini-games, trial versions, or collections. I just wanted to hear other anons' knowledge of videogames that met the "collection" criteria since I don't really have much concrete data on that solution.

It's like theory of evolution. It starts of by making a tribe with only blonde hair, and white shirts.
Then call them Romans. Then make 2-4 other tribes on the map, call them something else, maybe Muslims, Sea-people or Italians (or any fantasy name).
The romans start to chop down trees, discover how to make beer, and learn how to use copper and weapons.
Then another tribe attacks the romans for their resources, and lack of territory. Some tribes get wiped out, others later declare peace. And sometimes one roman wants to become a leader and challenges the other tribes member for that position.
One roman might be the only one capable of making magical items, another roman owns the local mine, this puts them at an advantage.
I use an editor for birthmaking, a rich citizen can get a wife and have kids, sharing "genetics" with parents, say purple eyes.
These are lineage, if their father die, the kids will likely avenge them. Very powerful families have about 9 kids and take over families business. I document it by writing (CoF Lucious Vorenus & Laila) II (2nd child)
After a while, a civilization has 500 characters, and taxes have been implemented, forcing these characters to work, mining, or start their own company if they got the funds, and the game roll on by itself with massive plots, twists etc.
Guards/Police send criminals to jail and keeping it civilized, there are toll boths when entering towns, preventing characters from moving as they want. Time also progresses, I have reached the age of guns and old airship, but I have not yet reach the age of Futurism and alien invasions.

Honestly I would want a game where I could simulate being outside in the sun and having a sense of freedom. With that in mind, I would go with a game like minecraft, space engineers, etc. That would be my first requirement, my second would obviously be replayability, which some really dense rougelikes could cover. I wouldn't mind a game with other characters you could build relationships with, although I doubt that would have the replay value to sustain it for 3 years. Mainly I would want a cheery game that would distract me from the doldrums of life in a cell for 3 years, while keeping in mind the fact that you also have pen, paper, and books to keep you occupied.

I play Terraria the correct way, I admit to having 3000+ hours ingame and buying my 2k computer for the sole reason to improve the roleplaying way I play, but I still haven't completed Cuthulu and Alien invasion because my world has not yet evolved into futurism.
I have atleast 3+ year of enormous enjoyment of Terraria before reaching that stage, and thousands of different scenarios that will occur making a game like Morrowind lore look like a turd. Will the secret necromancy cult userp the power of neighbouring lands? Will the Russian Federation destroy the economy by launching extremely cheap products? Will there be a prophet starting a new religion, sightings of angels? Will a new axis of allience conquer a larger part of the world? Who knows? Not even me.
There is nothing wrong with how I play this game, just look at /vg/ at all the crybabies who rush the game in normalmode, and complain after they beat the game within a day. They are playing it entirely wrong. Never has there been a game so unlimited to create your own civilization and customized characters, the game is a masterpiece and will be appriciated properly.

Yes I roleplay my characters by myself, it's impossible to do this online.
For example: "Caesar, leader of the "Roman Civilization declares war on the Vikings", and send out 30 troops to the border of the Viking-town.
Then I send out 20 viking characters and they slug it out, using turn-based combat.
Other times, maybe the Senators consider Caesar a bad leader, they start to plot against him, maybe one of the senator is still loyal to Caesar and warns him. Maybe Caesar dies anyway, or is able to win.
Other times I just mindlessly play as a peasant, go mining for a few hours, he earns enough coin to buy another property for 25 gold, then I drop a sign inside that property saying "Property belongs to X, willing to sell".
A month later I play a character who wants to buy that house, X demands 80 Gold since there is lack of housing, the peasant makes a big profit, and maybe opens a gun store or something, where the italian mafia demands 20% of his profit or they will kill him.
Its plenty of stories and it would be impossible to do this online.
>>338670017
I go camping and hiking every week, and I'm not a virgin, I'm confident I'm ahead most people here, and I don't watch anime or masturbate to hentai.
There is nothing wrong with roleplaying like this, some people like Dwarf Fortress, others build an entire world in The sims, I just realized how unlimited the capabilities are with Terraria.
I have played Minecraft with normal average friends and we each built a castle and made a flag, set up trading routes. It's nothing off with having some imagination, I just like the solitary aspect.
>>338661983
>multiple routes
There's like 3 endings, but in terms of actual difference in the quests most of them play out the same and there's very little in what you can do to make the experience much the experience different.
And there's very few of them anyway, I think even Das1 had more options with how you could play out the quests.I'd probably just pick Elona and use that infinite time to finally kill gods.Doom is definitely an option I would consider if I get access to like every WAD made till now

You could have spent three years making an actual game actually built around doing this exact thing. You could have been the next Notch, making the next Minecraft, but based around character sims and development.
You could have just made mods for The Sims and you would have had a better experience than utilizing Terraria of all things to live out your fucking absurd, insane, and LEGITIMATELY 100% REAL NON-MEME AUTISM, and you know what? People wouldn't be nearly as freaked out by how weird that'd be because The Sims is practically built exactly for that sort of shit!

I was always looking for "the perfect game". I used to roleplay in other games, like Worms, building prisons and apertments in the editor, making one team called civilians, one called criminals and one police. Then had a story going for 30 minutes until sudden death. I did this to alot of games, but they were always limited in one way or another.
In the beginning I played it casually, mining alot, then started building alot. One day I accidently opened two windows, and realized I can connect to same server with two characters. It wasnt long until the roleplay started, and got immensly improved with Tshock as it avoided server crashes, and more customization.
>>338672514
Just any site where you can download it from. I have it on steam, but prefer to update the game in my own pace. To avoid any issues preventing me from joining my own server with multiple characters, or in this case, which vexes me, the unstoppable falling slime rain which kills my characters outside their apertment.
>>338672572
I don't play normalcore, if I did that, and made a new world, I could beat terraria in about a day. It doesnt give me the deep immersion and enjoyment, as playing it my way. It's more complex and advanced the way I do it now, and more enjoyable because of it. I can't go back to playing it casually, maybe hardcore mode but it wouldnt be as fun.
Terraria allows me to create unlimited amount of characters and gameplay is completly free to do as you choose with no time basis.
I do some basic 3D modelling, when I'm ready I might do a simple Indie game if I get a programmer onboard. Stop being so angry.
Have we discovered someone more autistic than Barneyfag himself?
I think that any game without procedurally generated content would get stale after 3 years alone.
So even massive games like Skyrim or GTA or Fallout would get boring after what, 6 months?
So, I think only "random" games are good.
Minecraft, Terraria, Binding of Isaac and so on.
I think the best one would be Minecraft simply because of the scope. Terraria is limited in size. Even the biggest map can be dug out and explored in a few weeks. And the level cap pretty fast.
So yeah, I think Minecraft offer the most possibilities out of all games I know of that I'm interested in.
>>338659318
Minecraft. I like building stuff in it but it always takes so much more time than I think it does, and I end up wasting hours of free time. So it's make time in prison fly by easily, and I get to make sick architecture. Music is also nice.

Im not that guy but I do think like him as well, the incredible amount of autism that terraria guy shows is actually a blessing in my eyes, shit, he could have been the next Tolkien for all I know, creating incredible complex worlds with their own lore, or like this guy is saying, imagine if instead of playing a shitty game (which I personally cant even stand playing because I think the characters and art direction are completly vomit inducing, this is coming for someone who plays ss13 btw) he had created an entire new game using that autism as fuel, his roleplaying sounds fun as fuck, the thing is, 99% of whats going on is inside his head, shit, he could probably have as much fun just imagining this shit in his own mind.

I don't really know to be honest, I like making up scenarios or stories and confine myself to it when playing different games, but I havent found many games that allow me to do it really good.
If I play minecraft and get bored, I limit my equipment run into the woods and pretend I'm a settler in a harsh world, nothing unique about that.

I have so many scenarios to discover, I want to see biblical things happening in the world, see one faction gain ultimate control of the entire world, hellish dystopian nightmare, and rule for a long time, and then see the evolution of a succesfull heavenly rebellion destroying the dark power. But these things take enormous amount of times and I'm not getting any younger, and it gives me anxiety and I consider travelling, maybe shack up with a woman.

He opens 10+ instances of the game at once.
And roleplays each of those 10+ characters through interactions one at a time.
Even massive wars, he does it one character at a time.

Not that guy but I'm really into fantasy novels and stuff. The only game I've managed to play where I just fell into role-play was Mount and Blade.
My first real character was Khayrat. This apparently means "good deed" which is ironic because I pretty much enslaved a group of slavers, made mad money skirmishing with deserters and selling them as slaves, and wormed my way into the high society by becoming a vassal. Eventually I had to grow my army, and my manhunters were slowly killed off one by one (since they're kind of shit cavalry in a real battle and not just clubbing peasants for loot) until there was just a small close-knit group of them left. After I turned on the sultan for slighting me, and carved my way into the lands of those horse fucking khergits, I bequeathed a castle to my remaining few manhunters (left them as part of a fuckhueg garrison for some small castle near my capital city) and lost control of the game because I didn't know shit about how to play past amassing troops and killing. I'm bad at writing and story-telling but it was all very compelling at the time, and I got really into it. Something that rarely happens any more.

>Some kind of bizarrely in-depth simulator. Basically treat it like a job, hopefully the routine of it would stop you from going crazy.
Literally Euro Truck Sim which would totally be my pick.

One of those games I literally played for hours and hours because it was overflowing from content: Diablo 2, StarCraft, Colonization, Halo: Reach (though no multiplayer), Pirates!, Morrowind, Doom/Quake/Heretic/Hexen, STALKER, Transport Tycoon, MGSV perhaps...

Jesus fucking Christ anon, channel your autism and get into Dwarf Fortress
Even regular people can roleplay in that one, for you it'd be an absolute goldmine and I'm sure you'd become a god within a decade
Every dorf has a simulated personality with lots of traits, you can designate areas that can only be entered by X people for noble quarters and whatever,m you can designate sleeping and dining rooms to people, you have taverns, music, all the shit
Goddamn I really want to browse /v/ in 5 years and see you tell your tales of DF

easily i'll pick the BEST game ever.
I'd imagine I can sink plenty of time into Minecraft. Three full years though is questionable, but it's probably my best bet.
If I could have a computer and GameMaker: Studio instead (along with a couple reference fbooks), I'd gladly take that instead.
Honorable mentions:
Fallout 4 (I'm kind of autistic about radiant quests and there's no level cap)
Terraria (Can start from scratch once per year or something to keep worlds fresh)
Disgaea 5 (Item world would give me plenty of things to do)
Witcher 3 (Never played it and it seems like a good timesink)
Bloodborne (chalice dungeons)
PC where possible, or PS4k.
>>338695891
people can enjoy radiant quests?
more power to ya man
Killzone 2
Oblivion, don't really care what platform if I can't have mods, but if I can take mods then obviously PC

No art programs? ok then
RPG maker. I'd spend all that time creating the barebone alpha for a traditional turn based RPG. i'd basically just use the Placeholders for everything until i'm able to get out. i'd also be sitting around writing scripts, lore, dialogue, ect as well as drawing all of my concept art on pen and paper
i'd use my 3 years of solidarity and no distractions to create something as well as try to improve my creative skills.
