This is wrong. It's been stated multiple times that Joker is dangerous to approach because his physique and demeanor masks surprising dexterity and strength that he can use to his advantage in hand to hand combat.

Oh yeah, and as for the games in the series.
TM1 feels outdated, and is kind of hard to play.
TM2 also shows its age, but it's a very solidly designed game that's still fun to play, and is arguably the best game in the series.
TM3 and 4 suck.
Small Brawl is a more kid friendly approach to the series, but is also surprisingly fun. Worth playing if you're into the series.
Black is by far the darkest game in the series, and is pretty fun. Probably the hardest game of the bunch, though.
Head-On is a sequel to 2, and is a very fun game. Get the PS2 version over the PSP version, since the PS2 version has way more in it.
2012 is the most recent game, and it's decently fun, although it lacks the huge cast of the previous games, and the story is more hit and miss. Still fun, and the multiplayer is great.
