It has its drawbacks like wonky targeting and enemy superarmor out the ass but it still ultimately is a refinement of Burst (especially performance-wise) and I'll take the beat-em-up direction of the 3DS games over the musou-lite direction of the Vita ones. Even then, I haven't played EV yet but SV was piss easy and had an even more annoying camera than the 3DS games. And SK2 had some neat side content too like the Yoma Nest, special missions and the DLCs.

The new consoles are increasingly scary as day one patches become a thing. Can't even launch the game without connecting to pull the rest of it from the cloud. My interest in the new machines has dropped to an all time low incredibly quickly and I don't think I'll be getting it back. I just have a Halo 5 Xbone and I'm probably going to sell off the PS4 and wait for some limited I like of that.

Ive played all the games but the rythem one and think EV is probably maybe the best entry. The gameplay is definitely the slowest out of all but it also has the most characters. Having the biggest roster is a good and bad thing to me because some characters didnt get as much attention as they usually do. Most of the events in EV revolve around Ryouna, Ryoubi, Miyabi, and the shine sisters (which includes Renka) though they felt more like a side plot. Pretty much get EV for Renka and if you can bare the gameplay to check more "lore" and boobs get yourself SV and maybe SK2. Burst is only for hardcore fans. That game runs like a 50 year old rusted toaster but sets up a lot of the setting and inside jokes.

The 3DS games are more like traditional beat-em-ups, especially Burst. SK2 kind of hybridizes the two a little but still comes closer to beat-em-up territory, though it also emphasizes multiple character control.

I guess. I practiced Sonico and Muramasa for like a total of 8 hours. Went online and everyone was either terrible or on another fucking level. It was hard to keep up playing when you got Uniel, Blazblue, and Guilty sitting right next to you. Plus no one at my local scene ever mentioned it so I gave up on it.
