So I just beat this game. As someone that basically swore off the series after 2 and only came back because they said 3 was "the last one" I figured I might as well see how it was. It just seems like Dark Souls 2 with more polish. Visually and mechanically the game is easily better than any other in the series, but the game itself just feels really weak in comparison. The game never felt difficult because of a tricky enemy or a really tough boss, but the fact that the game is so loaded against your favor now. Say in Dark Souls you try to fight the Crestfallen Warrior at Firelink Shrine. He does a decent amount of damage, has poise that's accurate to his armor, and plays just like you would, taking his time and playing it safe behind his shield and rolling when necessary. Now take an NPC in Dark Souls 2 or even Dark Souls 3. They have more stamina than you, despite there being poise in 2 that does practically nothing and poise doing actually nothing in 3 they can tank your hits with ease, they have a much larger health pool than you have available, and they often hit way harder than their weapon should. Now I'm fine with a challenge, I think everybody is, but with this the challenge isn't in the mechanics of the game or the confusing nature of an enemy, it's with cheap gimmicks that take your health away like the Jailers, or enemies that can relentlessly attack for a multitude of time more than you can like the Boreal Soldiers. Just a little bit ago I fought Lothric and I only died once the first time figuring out the teleport gimmicks. The second time it was absolutely trivial. This is an endgame boss, it should be a roadblock you're stuck on for a while. Hell, I had more trouble with the needlessly long staircase before the actual fight. I never got stuck on a single boss. I think I died to the Abyss Watchers like three times because I was underleveled and that was it. Other than that I beat basically every boss my first try or the try right after.

Oceiros is a bit harder at lower levels (gear and SL), though still that hard as long as you avoid his 2nd phase swipes (probably a 1 hit kill there with low Vit as he'll hit you twice).
He seems like a boss that shouldn't be too hard though. Like the Old Demon King. They're both old and way past their primes.
Whereas Nameless King by lore should be hard.

Delusion? I mean, he is the "Consumed King" so I figured he was consumed by this notion that he had this kid when actually he doesn't. He's just hallucinating the kid being there and during the fight as you hurt him it shatters the illusion.
So those sounds of the baby crying being cut short are likely what plays when you hit Oceiros and also Ocelotte.
Since the crying continues throughout the whole fight I wonder what would have happened after Oceiros dies? The baby dies as well?
Since this was cut though I'd say its more likely Oceiros is just insane and there is no kid. If they had left the sounds in but just made the baby invisible I'd be more inclined to believe he was actually there.
