I won't be surprised if this is how you guys actually play the game.
I really don't get triggered by the typical taunt gestures like point down or welcome but any player doing legion etiquette needs to die in a fire.

basically every invader now fights for the killreward with clenched teeth if you are alone, and if you have a phantom, you let them duel and they ALWAYS start jugging during the duel, making me attack too in the process. every encounter feels like this now, with the only variety after pontiff fight, where you will always get 2 invaders, no exceptions, thanks to superb balance covenant

I use Etiquette as a greeting when I greet people at all and repeatedly slam my Greatsword on the spot where they died, unless it was a very good fight and I go with Rest or Sleep instead.

Yep. All I've seen in these SLs are GS/UGS users, Whip, Bows( I don't understand but ok), Pyros mostly, doesn't work but whatever. And lastly a few Sorceries, but they always have ganks squads with them.
I'd invade some Dark Sword and Estocs users maybe around 2 out 10? Seems like they learned they just get parried anyway by just using those weapons so the opt to use UGS 2handed so they can't be parried.

It's tricky to learn to use it properly, but it's uncommon enough they never know what to do about it. Supplement with some freeaim pyromancy and it's legit as hell

Hyperarmor is what creates build diversity, without it everything you will see is dark sword users in full havel poisetanking anything.
There's usually good fight clubs held just after the pontiff bonfire in the small courtyard.

Auto summon I think prioritizes your area but you can get summoned anywhere, I've been summoned to fight off aldrich loyals while I was going through the irithyl dungeons.

The absolute funnest way to play is summon 1 (ONE) phantom and pop dried fingers and run through the level like normal. If you're in watchdog or Aldrich territory, equip way of blue or summon a second phantom and leave it at that. I went through Cathedral with a single bro and we wrecked several invaders in 2v2s. I use seeds when invaders waste our time and hide or try to use enemies against us even when it's 2v2. I actually sometimes go through areas solo with dried fingers with way of blue to let them get some action but I don't get invaded as much.

What is the best melee ring combination?
I'm using ring of favor, Champ gundyr chain, ring of steel protection and Carthus milkring.
It works fine for my Lothric knight greatsword but uh.
Should i swap RoSP with a lightning clutch ring and use lightning blade to boost it further?
Atm i just use carthus flame arc because it's cheap, and the split damage is nice against shields.

It's stupid how you can completely negate poison with passive regen. Poison worked best in DaS2/BB where it did high damage but didn't last very long so it was an immediate threat that needed dealing with.

Well if you have the shield on your back constantly i can only recommend Horsehoof ring to instantly break turtles so you dont waste as much stamina, Just trust me when i say that the 10% damage taken increase from the clutch ring is NOT worth it just to boost the lighting damage of your sword by like 15%

At the moment i'm using ring of steel protection to nullify the prisioner's chain the increased damage and still being able to use lightweight armor and achieving that 20% damage absorption.
But yes i like your recommendations, i'll try them out, but i'll probably fail a lot since i can't parry that well, and i feel like if i fail a kick i'll fuck up badly.
And yes, i have the shield on my back.
I only swap it when i need to buff my UGS with fire or parry with caestus.

The timing isnt flat across all shields like the other games. Medium shields have a delay compared to smaller shields which are faster and the caestus which is instant.
Startup is independent of the extra frames added by the parrying dagger and buckler, ive found that both are slower than the caestus

Okay even then I wasn't getting salty... it was the taunting after killing me that got me salty. Why are you taunting? You have not accomplished anything. Usually you got your ass beat and had to run away and summon more dudes while I kill your third friend, and then when I finally am put to rest you taunt me like you just wrecked my dickhole off?
Additionally, if I have to kill five phantoms and then the host pulls the plug when I go to riposte him, I should get *some* kind of reward, fuck you from.

There are items in the game locked behind invading, grinding through at times, 5v1 situations to get 1/30th of progress towards it, is endlessly frustrating and boring. When every other game is a guy instantly pulling his plug because he doesn't want to play offline but doesn't want to be invaded, or whatever, then you'd be butthurt too.
The reason why invading got worse and worse was because of people like you crying over the game being too hard and now one of the defining traits of the franchise is pointless.

The problem is people like you are what made from nerf invading into the ground until it was just not fun.
An invader might have to fight 6 phantoms in a row before he even gets to see you summoning more and there's no limit on that. You have 15 estus flasks, he has 4. You can turn all of the AI against him, if you're using the dried finger to summon three white phantoms at a time, then the two reds can accidentally hit each other, purples can hit each others/reds, and then the blues will counterinvade the reds/purples. etc. etc. etc.
The odds are so far stacked against invaders at a level that it's never been before. Also, that's not what ganking means.
Ganking is purposefully summoning in invaders while you have a team of phantoms with you, so that you have an unfair advantage against them.

i got summoned into a "ganksquad" as a blueberry. it was Undead Settlement and they were on the tower. one guy was named Rok the Shield, the other guy was shooting the invader with dragonslayer, i would walk my character up to the top point of the tower and just stare down, while the Rok poked and the other guy sniped.
9/10 times the invader would come try to kill me because i would just randomly shoot soul arrows at them, like a tricky level.
after each kill we would each go back to our spot and sit/stand and wait for the next invader and repeat this over and over until my pact was kept.

As for sorceries:
Soul Stream will only ever work if you are cheesing with obscuring ring + binocular and the host is a retard. Shit damage against enemies and bosses for the stamina/fp cost/slow ass charge
CSS and normal Soul Sear do little damage over GHSA compared to the super increase in Stamina and FP cost and once again, only hit retards that can't dodge for shit
Farron sword deals shit damage compared to an upgraded weapon that swings at pretty much the same speed
Homing Soulmass will only ever hit retards and has awful casting time, unlike DSII it also procs at super duper long range now making it even easier to dodge
At least they upgraded the soul shower like spell that serves to put minor pressure now
Magic is objectively worse than melee in this game and it's a simple fact.
Not to forget the fact you don't need to split Estus, can spam weapon arts forever with just a Simple infusion due to the whole 1 FP being enough, don't need 3 fucking rings to do respectable damage, most retarded reverse scaling possible, have weapons that can actually hold your hand from the beginning to the end of the fucking game with minimal stat investments like Astora Sword as opposed to having to wait until mid-late game to find good spells and rings, can stunlock 90% of enemies with R1 spam.

SL30 with a +2 weapon is the ideal range for watchdogs. I've actually had to ALT+F4 and switch to offline to get the summons to stop before since I didn't even get enough time to unequip the covenant. .
Souls Police here. It is my duty to stop shitters from shitting themselves on an invader's sword. That can't be avoided, and I like doing it. Anyone that bothers keeping way of the blue on over other convents usually is shit enough to need the additional help.
That said, I strive to make the experience good for everyone. If the host allows it, I'll solo the invader. I'll only heal if the invader chugs first. I'll stick around and watch ganks but not join them. If it's a huge brawl between a lot of invaders and phantoms, that's fine. I'll join that. If the invader is using the environment against a solo host, I'll help the host handle it and protect him from the environment. If there is another blue there somehow, I'll let that blue handle it and watch.

I wanted to upgrade a few more weapons but I once read here that upgrading a lot of stuff can mess things up. For example, you may have 500 titanite shards but if you use all of them you're locked out of PVP.
I'm specifically referring to the number of weapons, not weapon level memory, where your highest leveled weapon is considered in PVP match making with a +2 and -2 rule.

If I'm the Host, then I am always alone, so I either get fucked because Invader is used to fighting 3 fags, or we have a relatively fair bout in an open area.
If I'm the Summon, Grape or Gold, I will always be that one guy who sits out of a fight making it a 1v1 or 1v2 for the Dickwraith, only joining in if it would otherwise balance the fight.
If I'm the invader, I mix it up and usually just go farm for souls cause I'm in no mood to fuck with a Ganksquad.
I'm also always a Grape Invader, cause why not.

Why did scrubs start complaining about "unfair gank squads" now when they existed in all the previous games as well? Influx of new players unfamiliar with the series? PvP matchmaking always preferred hosts with phantoms. Phantoms getting less max HP or less HP restoration items was also a thing in all the previous games. This is because the host runs the risk of losing human form and level progress while the invader only has the risk of hurt feelings. If you want a more "balanced" encounter try to invade as a SunBro, Grapebro (their matchmaking prefers worlds with more players on both sides) or Aldrich and Watchdogs (matchmaking ignores Dried Finger requirement for multiple invaders).It's being unable to twink, isn't it?

Demon's Souls and Dark Souls had no twink preventing mechanics, plus both games had non-scaling weapons or spells, allowing you to stay low level and deal end-game tier damage or go high level with all your points put into health / stamina / carry weight and zero in offensive stats.
Dark Souls 2 had soul memory and removed SL completely from the equation, a system with good base idea but shitty execution since it permanently punished players who lost their souls or weren't as good at min-maxing their use.

Pyro is a fucking nightmare really low, but picks up around level 60.
If you want interesting, Chaos Astora Great Sword with 40/40 Int/Faith, 16/18 Str/Dex and rest into HP and Attune for 3 slots.
Great Chaos Fire Orb and whatever you want for that last slot. That spell comes from Smouldering Lake. Great Swamp ring, Sage Ring, and whatever other 2 Rings you want.
Chaos Infusion comes from Giant's Coal in Anor Londo. Until then, use Crystal.

Just don't upgrade your weapons, it's not hard. On top of that you can cheese any boss in the game with NPC summons. It takes like an hour to make a level 30 twink build with endgame weapons.

Yeah pyro isn't that great here at low lvl's. I reck normal monsters, but at Vordt it was mostly just my axe doing the job.

There's 2 types of Pyros.
Dedicated, which go Thrall Axe as a swap and dual wield Pyro flame with ~6 Ashen charges and 9 Life charges in your Flask.
3-5 Attunement.
And then Hybrid which is far more fun at higher levels. If you want a good PVE weapon until you et that Astora Greatsword, Great Scythe and Great Corvian Scythe are great.
Mediocre damage, but amazing moveset for mobs, the 2nd has the same stat req as AGS.
I just beat the game for the first time, but I played it completely blind and because of that I completely missed out on arch dragons peak.
I heard that ng+ is way easier than the first playthrough so my question is what soul level should I be to make it still challenging, because I heard the best boss in the game is there but I don't want to fight him overleveled.

It scales equally with both and accounts for both in scaling. 40/40 Int/Faith is equivalent to 40/40 Str/Dex on a dual B scaling weapon I believe.

Thanks. Since I'm doing a 20/20 str/dex hybrid this time I felt that I should at least try out one of each weapon by category.
A while back some anon here stated that "he" had a friend who used up all the many 100% drops of titanite shards and upgraded every weapon to +3. This lead to "his" friend not being able to be summoned anymore.
