I recently put it back in my ps3 after a while with the thought of getting the platinum trophy. After getting the one's where you have to speedrun the game and where you have mess with the internal clock to grow flowers I thought I was coming along fairly well. All that's left now are the weapon upgrade trophies.....

I just finished it myself, people overhyped it too much desu, when a game has an ending that is not even inside the game you know the director fucked up big time, I mean I get it that it's technically a continuation since every ending is just the same ending seen from different angles and with more content added each time, but still, come the fuck on, I would've liked to see Nier sprout out of the flower.

I don't think just collecting them would add too much time to your playthrough as long as you're doing the non-grindy sidequests and maybe build up your fishing skill to make money faster. Fully upgrading all of them for the trophy like triples the time it'd take to get every ending.

It's not a fun game to play, but it's a great game to experience.
Combat gets repetitive and half of the sidequests suck. But the sidequests really flesh out the world and bullet hell magic is interesting.
Great characters, great story, amazing soundtrack. Make sure to play NG+, which starts you off halfway through the game. Play through to get ending B, then consider watching endings C and D online if you don't want to play it again.

this is a really shitty description. It's just a very routine hack and slash. Some of the sealed verses are neat, and the hitstop on the two-handed swords is pretty satisfying, but aside from that it's incredibly plain.
