I'm currently in love with this baby right here. Only thing I find hard is/are late game bosses with it. It's a beast on PvP though. Not the best damage but you can really catch people off with the weapon art as long as you don't spam it.

On paper it has damage on par with the Greatsword but actually hitting things with it I don't really feel the damage. Would be kinda silly if it actually hit that hard though, considering it has a quarter of the weight and twice the speed.

Why is DaS3 PvP so terrible? I want fucking INVASIONS, not fucking fight clubs, and fight clubs are the only thing you can get at any decent rate.
I don't understand why from went backwards interms of gameplay mechanics and multiplayer, DaS2 made a lot of things better from DaS1 but had bad level design/bosses, but all of the things DaS2 did amazingly they just threw out of the window and DaS3 pvp just feels boring compared to DaS2.

Outside of PVP? Even better than in PVP. You can nuke bosses and regular enemies and it barely costs any FP. Plus after the strike hits it empowers the weapon for more lightning damage for a bit so it pays to use it all the time.

I was building Str/Fai but I had enough Dex at the time to make the SwordSpear work. It's fucking dooope - it also scales with faith too. Unfortunately if you're looking to nuke people you need a lot of points in faith - for some stupid reason faith scales better after 40 than before. I wish there were more Faith weapons in the game. At least Morne's could scale with Faith

That's assuming you invade the host right as they just stand up from the bonfire so they're at full estus and that they have seeds on them. And you are still equipped for PVP whereas the host most likely isn't and has to shuffle through his inventory. Not to even mention AFK people getting invaded.
The only thing this would achieve is baddies now occasionally winning in PVP without even having to try. That's not better PVP. That's just PVP made easy as all fuck for the invader for no reason, and completely removes the risk vs reward element.

You're using L1 right? If both hit it hits higher than Uchi. They're also fast, so don't expect a STR dmg but expect to land multiple hits.
They also make the bleed meter fill very quickly.
It's weapon art is situational and doesn't work very well.
It's more of a roll/ run into l1 and keep clicking l1 to finish it's combo.

I got sick of using a shield and longsword, so I started over as an Abyss Watcher cosplayer. This sword is so fucking stupid, but actually managing to drift behind an enemy and do the full anime combo is ridiculously fun, and being able to parry with the same window as a regular parrying dagger is a great bonus. Straight swords and some other medium weapons do 70-80% of the damage an ugs does, and because they use so much less stamina, they can keep swinging where an ugs would've already ran you dry. Thus, the dps is much higher, and the lower stamina allows for more defensive manuevers too. The only advantage an ugs would have over that is a larger attack radius, and even then, wide slashing swords can near match it.

I've been using the Estoc a lot lately.
Basicly just R1 spamming while avoiding obviously parries with high stamina, typically get about 3-6 stabs into someone and they usually roll away and run to heal. Also the speed and range typically means I'll get to stab them before they can even attack me first, I can miss a parry and then immediately attack with R1 and I typically am still able to interrupt their 2nd attack.

Because defense has two parts to it: flat reduction and %.
So instead of a 100 flat reduction on physical damage of 300, he has to go through 200 flat reduction on damage of 360, split between physical and lightning

since you need points in both int and fai for pyro, raw+buff is the best option in my opinion. Axes have a great weapon art too.

The Corvian Great Scythe scales a bit in strength better than the Great Scythe and does 2 more points of bleed but has lower base damage. The Pontiff Knight Great Scythe has an S scaling in Dex and its weapon art applies frost damage but it cannot be otherwise buffed or infused.

Raw is the right path. I tried chaos as a pyro and it doesn't even beat a normal battle axe. Ended up doing less damage than I would have if I just buffed it with my fire.

claymore or black knights sword. (non greatsword version). The BKS hits harder but can't be buffed. The claymore has a ridiculous heavy hitting poke when held in 1H.
Stop leveling strength after 27 as Das1 has stre set to scale at 1.5x when a weapon is held in 2H mode. So 27 stre x 1.5 is around 40 strength which is the soft cap for all stats.
Get Dex to 40. 30 Minimum. The claymore and BKS both scale with stre/dex. High dex will also make it so your critical hit/backstabs do stupid damage.
After 27/40 stre/dex, pump the rest into either HP or more endurance if you want heavier armor.

Honestly I think their distinct lack of range over the faster weapons is what really kills them.
I'm so glad this dropped from the halberd skeleton in the first area. I figured I'd try it out, since I didn't really like any of the other weapons I had so far, and this thing was a godsend. I always had trouble in Dark Souls 1 if I didn't get a black knight weapon drop (sword/greatsword/halberd), and I only beat Dark Souls 2 because I cheesed my way through it with the Greatsword. But I feel like the halberd is a "real" weapon, not a cheap OP weapon, and it's great to have finally found that unique item that is personal to me. I finally have a favorite weapon that isn't just the biggest sword possible.(Sorry for repost—I posted it in the wrong thread earlier).
