The only thing I can immediately spot being an issue is the description saying
"returns to the roots of the franchise where large-scale war and cinematic, immersive military storytelling take center stage"
when it's not WW2, their actual roots, nor immersive when A) you're always on your own apparently, B) you're a multi-disciplined soldier than can pilot as well as do infantry and C) you're constantly getting blown the fuck out of the game like a dumbass with god mode on.
Also I imagine for a game about cheap low budget FPS would have shitty vehicle sections when they never attempted BF's niche.

It appears to be a story about Earth going to war with colonies (literally Titanfall, what the fuck) with WW2-style human wave tactics, so I can see where they are coming from trying to brand the game as a return to the roots.
So no historical game for WW2fags this year but they still get to charge over open ground in the campaign.

I feel at this point it's like the Syndicate reboot, art assets of a cyberpunk future that give me a raging boner, in a game where that all means nothing and is entirely overshadowed by shallow typical FPS gameplay that is so expected and repetitive it'll give you a headache.

It's full on futuristic in the same way as BF2142. Those floating ships have very similar blue glowy antigravity floaty thingies that Titans had. It even has mechs that are about the same size.
I'm starting to wonder if this decision was made to try and see if they can compete with an inevitable BF2143, then see if they can steal enough market share from BF to absorb that kind of playerbase into COD and bolster its flagging popularity.
