all stars racing transformed is legit one of the best arcade racing games ever made. the tracks are great, and the movement is excellent. there are many layers of boost, and you can do different things (risk boosts, drifting, tricks) and combine them together in various ways to get a slightly better boost. there are mario kart style items, but all of them either take skill to hit someone with, or can be avoided with careful enough play

I did, but not in the traditional sense. I only like official Sonic characters, Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails, and that's all I wanted to draw. But I wanted a cool villain that was similar to Sonic, but not hard to draw like Robotnik or metal sonic. So I made a guy called 'Sharpener' who was a porcupine. He looked like Sonic but lots of tiny needles instead of the big spines, and had Princess Sally's brown and offwhite color palette, with blue boots. In the comic I made, he wasn't very strong, but he built lots of robots and would send them after Sonic and Knuckles. They were called 'Smart Skins', and they were thinner and weaker than SWATbots, but faster and smarter, and all of them could fly with their built-in jetpacks. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles defeated them though, then they kicked his ass and sent him to Knothole's prison. Some time later he escaped in the next comic and then created 'Sharpener's Mechanix', basically Knuckles' Chaotix but robotic forms of them, which he had them gang up on Knuckles while he was alone. Knuckles had wandered into a swamp on the floating island looking for the Chaotix, so he got tricked because of the fog and let his guard down. So they took him down and then he was captured and then Sharpener revealed himself as the guy behind the robots.
I was supposed to continue the comic but then I got lazy and never finished it. I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. That was the closest thing to an OC I ever made for Sonic. But he wasn't a Mary Sue and he wasn't friends with Sonic. Just a side villain because I didn't like drawing Robotnik.

I actually liked lost world a lot. I dont think it should set the tone and design for the future of the series but as a spin off mentality, i really had fun with it. I loved how the levels had a bunch of variety and used different themes for the same zone, such as the treetop and candy areas in the desert world, or the underwater facility for tropical coast. If i had to dock it down, it would be for the overly complicated controls, bad story and rivals, terrible bosses, and the very obvious rehashing later in game.
I sure hope sonic gets the boost back though...spin dashing sucks ass.

Only the first act. Act 2 is the stuff of nightmares. Best way to traumatize a kid is by having them play that level. Actually, it was Pender's fault that it couldn't become a series. The script wasn't complete, either. The game was released in late Alpha. Placeholder tracks were used because they didn't had the whole soundtrack done yet, the game was to have more worlds, the gameplay suffered due to more deadlines pushed to Bioware. Bioware was also bought by EA around that time, too. They were rushed to make their other future titles like DA and ME. The game was to be cancelled because of Penders suing Sega for using "his" characters in the game. Which owes to the rushing of the game to the market. This also ruined Sega's relationship with Archie, screwing with a lot of their arcs and future issues.
In the end, it goes full circle. Blame Ken Penders for everything.

I want that sense of adventure back, the thrill of going through new and unique takes on classic ideas of "go through fire place" and "go through this desert." When I think of Crisis City as a concept, I get kind of sad actually. This should have been awesome, honestly. You're running through as fast as you possibly can, trying to escape a city that's literally burning around you and have to outrun the spirit of fire that's burning it. That sounds awesome. But what good is the concept without the execution?
I mean, Sonic Heroes's story wasn't really great either, but the only reason we pay attention to Sonic's story now is because Shadow went ahead and turned up the EDGE up way too far, and Sonic 2006 had a really overly dramatic and poorly written story that falls apart if you think about it for more than two seconds. Sonic's story is about him being too slow to save the princess and hardly touches up on the main plot at all. He doesn't meet the main antagonist until he gets killed by him from behind. Jesus Christ.
Honestly, as far as I'm concerned, the story doesn't need to be any "deeper" than Unleashed, but I'd rather they not play it safe anymore like with Lost Worlds.
Honestly, something like Black Knight or Secret Rings would tickle my fancy.

The Return to Angel Island arc, the Metal Sonic 2.5(?) one-off, and Sonic doing cool shit in space for a few issues and running into a StC Super Sonic cameo.
And even after he was gone, he shit up the last arc that actually got published, stomped on a dark-ass plotline that was finally looking up and making Flynn out to be this hateful sadist as well as Matilda, Beau, and Geoffrey/SFF plotlines, and got characters removed from the comic that weren't even his (see: Mina).

I'm not seeing how her design is any bit as overdone as any other characters. She doesn't have a whole lot of shit going on like you say. The most excessive thing I see is the socks being stripped. Other than that she just has 4 colors for her whole design, as opposed to the 5 someone like Cream has. Her look is distinctive without being to flashy, minus the socks, unless you count a coat, bow, cover alls and shoes flashy. She doesn't have a whole lot of accessories on her, just a bow. Maybe her collar is a bit long, but I don't see how that's an issue. The colors are spaced out pretty well on her as a whole and don't seem overly used save for the eyes being blue. Just drop the striped socks and make the eyes green and I honestly don't see all that's wrong with it. Maybe we just have different design taste but I don't see how the design is as shit as you say.

There is no guideline or rules, there are only what looks nice and what does not, and that is opinion based. I miss this shit to. SA1 and Unleashed had the best balance of funny/corny moments and seriousness enough to get you invested in what was happened to the world around you. SA2 is a lot more action packed and i dont like it as much as those two, but it still does a good job at making you feel involved and wrapped up in the dramatic events.

Tails is just an unfunny nerd that you can't even play as now. Rouge went from a spy who loves treasures to being a cougar for sonic. Shadow is even edgier than befofe but now without a backstory.
Team chaotix is nearly unexistant, though they were never developed. Omega hasnt been anywhere after sonic 06 and some sonic psp games.
Blaze went from being a mysterious princess to some useless friend of silver then to being a kindaa-ish mysterious lad that does nothing. Silver hasn't been developed at all after 06.
