In DaS3 softban works a lit different m8, they don't put you in a cheater pool server like in DaS2, they just disable all online play except for bloodstains and messages, which means you can't summon or be summoned anymore, not even with other softbanned people. You pretty much lose access to the online multiplayer.

I'm partly grateful for this exploit, because seeing the reaction to it has made me finally feel ready to leave /v/ after 7 years. It's just changed so much. Where there used to be empathy and counterculture, there's now mindless bandwagoning and knee-jerk contrarianism. Instead of a elitist (but fair) community of like-minded people, it's a collection of shallow archetypes parroting the same tired lines. From is in the wrong for not implementing online safely, as well as for not keeping up with events and banning the source of this incredibly public display hours ago. And although the error wouldn't even be an issue if it wasn't abused, it's still From's duty to ensure safe and stable play. Yet going back to that sentence: if the error wasn't abused it wouldn't be an issue, so the hackers are ultimately deciding to ruin thing for others, making them and the community the problem. But this should have been expected from a community that revels in inaccessibility and feeling superior to others, so the weight falls back on From again for not predicting this and making the game watertight before release. It's a big fucked up cycle and trying to put it in black and white only serves to facilitate easy and mindless internet arguments, so hey, at least you guys are happy.
