Infusing also affects the weapon's scaling, so sometimes leaving it as a plain "normal" weapon means it will give better overall damage due to scaling better with str or dex.
Additionally you can use resins to enchant your weapon if it's not infused, which is good enough for shorter encounters.

Pyromancy is the best of the magics if you plan to pvp as well. If you're only doing pve, sorcery is still really strong.
Might want to slap a raw gem onto a low req weapon for mobs. I'd recommend rapier, estoc, or any straight sword. Once you get decent stats, use a crystal for INT or chaos if pyro

It was pretty great in DS2. I agree it seems too slow in this. You can kill retards with the soulmass/soulgreatsword combo, but any decent player will just dodge it all and kill you.
However, I haven't tried soulstream in pvp yet. Apparently you can 1shot people from miles away.
Lothric Knight Sword, been using it since the start of the game. I tried the dark sword for a while but don't like it nearly as much. I guess I'm just set in my ways with the blueblood sword/balder side sword moveset

So, has anyone played around with bleed builds? In particular, I was wondering if twin-weapons L1 attacks build bleed on each hit, or if the bleed is scaled between both hits. I've been using twin-daggers, but they aren't that great outside of stun-locking trash or quickstep spam (which is the only reason I use them over gravewarden blades). Also, I heard that bleed powder is far better than bleed infusion, but do they both scale with Luck?

The sage ring evidently puts you near the speed cap for casting even with base dex, and with 20 dex it's still not as fast as in other games. So no, I don't just suck.
And doing that kind of damage is only possible with the circlet and magic clutch ring, which makes you even more of a glass cannon.

I use these two the most often.
I love the dancers helm veil effects but hate the front. But I've yet to find another interesting helm. I have it paired with the wolf set because I like the bulkiness of it. The dancer set is two pointy.
I use the brass set since it was my fave armor in DS1. I only use it for nostalgia I played a high poise dex pyro build. I would bait a hit stun lock with the silver knight sword then finish with pyro. If they blocked I just black pyroed them down until they broke and finished with the silver knights sword. But with POISE BEING FUCKING USELESS. I cant play that way. Everything stuns you in this game. Even fucking rats.

Switching between Manikin Claws and Gotthard Swords depending on the situation. Pretty fun weapons. I love the side-step the claws give and the L1 frenzied attacks; costs so little stamina and you can really maul enemies. Fun to do with the Pontiff rings.

And with it's sword art does a fuckload of damage, I've hit players for over 1k damage with it, and the buff nearly doubles your regular damage.
