it's not the armor that's elite, it's meant for an Elite Knight

and those high rank fags just wear flashy bling as armor to show their rank, and it's not actually good protection -- they probably don't even intend to fight themselves and will just sit in the back

This is fucking nonsense, there's ceremonial armor, which is embellished and fancy, and then there's just better armor, which would typically have more and thicker plates, but would therefore be more costly and not given out to just anyone. We don't exactly know what makes the elite knights elite, whether it was status or station, so to claim that the armor is worse because it's ceremonial, when it doesn't fucking look it, is stupid.

It doesn't even have a chest plate. The torso area is just chain-mail with fancy cloth and trinkets over it. One of the fucking gauntlets is just plain leather.
