Hhmmm . . . I know some people like RO, and I would agree that there were certain aspects of it that I liked. For example, actually having to seek out your upgrade class, sign up with their organization, do their tasks and pass their test. I always enjoyed that Gothic II style of earning your class, and learning its abilities step by step from an order or organization of NPCs that have mastered these arts prior to you. It somehow grounds me thematically.
I do feel that RO has its flaws though.
Just the same, early Mabinogi, from my view point, was a very enjoyable experience. I played from Generation 1 through 3, gained Dark Knight and then quit, coming back off and on for a bit before I became dissatisfied with how things had gone. These days I can't say much about Mabi, but early on, I feel like it was a very solid game with enough focus on the gameplay beyond simple combat that it felt more like that, "Fantasy Life" the original marketing promised, but that the game has . . . sadly abandoned since (though I did like the combat well enough, I just liked that there was more to it at one point, instead of mostly combat progress).

I don't know what the K-Pop mob is. But they did stuff like a one year visa and a one year contract with the company so you had no time to find work elsewhere. Also they promised things they didn't deliver. Biggest was they said they'd refund your ticket at your first months paycheck, but when you get there there is a week long intense training that roughly 15% of people didn't pass they didn't tell anyone about. Those peopel didn't get there tickets refunded and were then stuck in Korea with no job, no housing and needing to find their own way home and out the 1000 or so spent getting there.
Careful of other countries though, Hong Kong hired me and said when I was coming over to buy a ferry pass leaving the country with my arrival ticket. The reason being they hire people without visas and you need to show customs you plan to leave if you arrive without a work visa to trick them to let you in.

The point of the training is to train you to do their job the way they want. They are strict and if they don't like you they decide not to hire you. If you do fine they take you to your work location, home and refund your ticket and set you up with a job as you expected.
