I got windows store and windows live to play their games cause I loved killer instinct in the past and it's a giant fuck up. Huge, ginormous, monumental fuck up. Take my word for it and stay far away.
Some key points:

It's far worse than even that. The DLC for games which are sold in the M$ store, that cannot run without Xbone live, don't have their content in the store, or even in Xbone live. Their content is obtained through the game itself.
Imagine if you were on steam, and you had to buy the game, then run the game, then access the ingame DLC purchasing interface, only to then be redirected to microsoft store, to extract your money, then the game once having authorized the transaction, uses Xbone live to download the DLC.
It's beyond comprehension and it can't fail fast enough to free the games from this ball and chain.

Windows 10 has a setting where you can choose where your .exe get installed into, but the windows 10 store will always install them to that picked drive. You can't choose where specific .exe programs from the store install to, like other rational and logical .exe programs.

No you can't, the HDD matter has already been proven. As for the Windows store being open, do a simple test. Unplug your internet, then plug it back in. Now sign into either M$ store or Xbone live pick your poison, then you will notice you are automatically signed into the other. Just cause you don't have both open doesn't mean they aren't running in the back ground. They both use the same telemetry, meaning they are different leafs on the same trunk. Being in one connects you to the other and forcing the .exe to terminate stops both.

It totally is a problem. It's not even getting half the options for no benefits. Console tards might be okay with not getting control over their things, but it undermines everything that pc gaming is about. Taking away options, features and quality isn't a step in the right direction.

I just got done watching the second episode of the live action show. I have mixed feelings about the game. Even though the xbox one version is 720p, it's still a great looking game, really great looking. The assault rifles are hard to get used (i'm playing without aim assist). And when they say the live sequences would focus on the bad guys, they were half lying. So far from what I've watched, the traitor at monarch has been the star of the show. It's not entirely based on the main bad guys, that's very disappoiting. First episode was decent, not great. Second episode took itself too seriously, it was trying to sound deep but for a scientist/doctor but I didn't give a shit about.
So far 7/10

Windows 10 is basically 2 OS. Normal windows that runs .exe programs and UWP windows that is little more than a MS iOS copy. UWP windows can't run .exe, I don't think it uses the registry and other common windows parts. It's basically the failed windowsRT and windows phone parts shoved into a desktop OS. They most likely plan to dump normal windows support as soon as they can.
I think you can't even write your own UWP programs and use them, there was some restriction on side loading that meant any code you wrote had to be approved by MS who would then send you an encrypted UWP app to sideload. I would have to check, it keeps changing every week and depending on which MS employee responds. GFWL had a similar process, it took 6 weeks for MS to approve game patches for GFWL games even if they were emergency bug fixes.

Can't you use OBS to capture it? I think I tried it once and it worked just fine. Not sure if it was regular OBS or OBS studio though.
I'm enjoying the shit out of it. It feels a lot like Max Payne and I fucking loved it so I'm glad. It looks great too. My only complain so far is that I really wish I could jump and dive like Max.

Removal of GFWL made things worse for some games. Like Dark Souls, the game's onine worked like shit because the game itself was made this way, but there was a friend connectivity fix for the GFWL version, in the steamworks one you're fucked.
These kinds of "narrative focused" games are terrible in the sense that getting good with the mechanics means shit if you are going to play through the same story sections
Take something like FO4, or any TES games, if you get good at the game there are plenty of other things besides the storyline that you can apply those skills on
Games like TLoU, Remember Me, many Hack&Slash games, this one and other ones that try to tell a story suffer from having such low replay value that i just don't want to get into it and get good at it because if i have to replay the game just to have a "good playthough" then the story doesn't mean anything anymore and since it has a heavy focus on it i'm going to be spending a lot of time just having to watch cutscenes for the sake of just keep playing the game

Games that have such focus on story only suffer when you add stuff like upgrades or levels because if the story is so important, then towards the end you are going to feel like the gameplay is getting in your way
The only game i can think of that has a big focus on story and still manages to be replayable is Heavy Rain, because of the alternative endings and how different things can be even if at the end the main mission is to save Shaun

What happened to Remedy? Max Payne 1 & 2 were pretty damn good, and then Alan Wake was underwhelming as fuck, and from the looks of it, so is Quantum Break

I guess Microsoft wanted them to be their Naughty Dog but unfortunately they're just not as talented and Sami Järvi clearly wants to write for TV.
