I mean as much as I personally enjoyed Bloodborne, it's missing quite a lot that the Souls games had. It has very little build variety, a tiny selection of weapons, and pretty bad PvP. I feel that this is what PC players seem to like about Dark Souls.

BB has loads of that, as it's world is very well crafted and takes you through a narrative rather than dropping you off and saying "ring these bells, now kill these dudes and toss yourself in a fire lol"
And though the weapon selection is tiny, the movesets are greatly expanded compared to in mainline Souls games.

Dark Souls competes with Dark Souls 2 for the worst gameplay in the series right now. I say this almost closing out my first gameplay of Dark Souls 3, gameplay is basically ranked like this:
BB > DkS3 > DeS > DkS > DkS2.
DkS 3 is the first game that actually feels like a successor to Demon's Souls and is thus a strictly better version. Dark Souls was too slow and arduous compared to DkS3/DeS/BB. Not surprisingly the swiftest games with the best weapon movesets are at the top and the game having the best movesets is strictly the best. I guess I'm biased towards the weapons doing shit and having moves you can use. Dark Souls 3 fell short of BB in this regard, and with catalysts returning... But the real story is how lackluster battle arts are compared to vastly superior transform. They played it a bit too safe.
