My first SNK fighter was KoF '94 at some mexican restaurant (in Texas). Used Team USA and had no idea what I was doing. Forgot what it was for years.
Samurai Showdown at a Pizza Hut some time after. Might have been 1 or 2.
Years later, played Samurai Showdown 3 some odd years after it came out, roughly 98 or so?
KoF99 at some other mexican restaurant in texas. That convinced me to buy a Neo Geo Pocket after that since dipshit young me thought I could get the same thing on NGPC since I saw it in stores (so naturally I bought Fatal Fury F Contact like a dunce, several months later I miraculously found KoFR-2 at a toys r us in texas (near the border no less), but between FF1stContact and that, I bought Match of the Millenium and Card Fighters Clash (capcom sadly) and increased my awareness of SNK). Bought KoF98/1999 dream match on dreamcast, and the fucking link cable didn't work.
Never played the others at arcades. Only emulation and discs via home consoles.

I dunno, something related about Hell's Gate opening and shit. If you pursue non-romance route involving punching Setsuna for trying to open the gate again, the Kojiro scene doesn't occur at all.
Funny thing that I discovered, the younger twin likes Kyo, the older twin likes Iori, and they both pursue them in each other route, before they both got rejected. The MCs in both games acts as the fallback guy in both of the twins route.

You should also know that SNK isn't good with 3D since they were mostly a 2D company before they made the jump. Sprites or shading are retardedly expensive and would nearly kill them again just like XIII even though the movesets were gutted.

SFV is more technically impressive, but the art style has been shaping up to be total shit, it looks great in spots but certain elements and design concessions just ruin everything.
KoFXIV is going for a more clean look, think Ryu in SSB4, its kind of like that. I also like all the attention to really small details like creases being made in Benimaru's clothes as he moves and the lining on Terry's clothes.
