Psycho Mantis and Sorrow were natural born psychics, and Ocelot inherited some of that from his parents as well.
Spirits and psychic powers are literally canon in MGS universe.
Most of the tech in the series is based on real-deal things, or at least their prototypes. Metal Gears and optic camoflages obviously go to the scifi section.
