Tag Force 4 and 5 are my favorites. They don't have as many cards as special but I enjoyed playing through 4-5's stories more. I loved that it let you team up with anyone in the game, even minor characters and antagonists, and how the story events had title cards as if they were episodes of the anime.exciting.

After playing all the Tag Force games I gotta say, all of them are pretty damn good in their own way. If you don't mind me rambling on a bit, I just started replaying Tag Force 1 after so many years and coming from Tag Force special and the differances in gameplay blew me back. While the gameplay improved with each game they would also lose or remove some really fun features like having months, weeks, days, hell time in general. All sorts of mini games with your partner, having partners with non story characters, every story and npc character having up to 6 different decks all uniquely named, a 3D plain to move around(simular to pokemon in a sense). The earlier Tag Force games even felt like it tried to tell the story from the anime.
Basically what I'm trying to say is even though the gameplay improved and gotten much faster, it lost a lot of charm as each game game out.

Which ones do you mean? Tag force 1 definitely did, but 2's story events were pretty bare bones. Jaden even had no actual story and just had flashbacks. Never played 3 so I'm not sure how that was.

I don't think it died, per say. I mean it was still pretty popular enough to get 7 games out of the series. I don't think that many yu-gi-oh game series ever come close to that number. Konami just doesn't seem to be all that focused on yu-gi-oh games games. I mean even Legacy of the Duelist looks cheaply made in some areas especially on the kind of console its on. Yeah definitely TG 1. Ironically I skipped 2 but played 3. Don't know why I skipped 2 but 3 felt like it tried to conclude the story, everyone got a happy ending I think. I can't remember much else about it though, it's been awhile since I played TF3. Might grab 2 and reply 3 down the line.
