So I just beat vtmb for the first time, let's have an obligatory vampire thread
FUCK ming Xiao that fight was awful. I just circle strafed her and emptied every round I had while stopping to kill the little assholes and quicksaving like a birch.
the sheriff fight was sick and the perfect difficulty, but how the hell would you kill the bat if you weren't doing a gun focused build?
I let Heather die and I feel awful ;_;
if the messarch was just a dead old corpse then who slaughtered everyone on the Dane? The kuei-jin agents? If they stole the key at that point why the hell didn't they just steal the sarcophagus then? Weren't they also in league with lacroix at that time? Also when did Jack open the coffin and pull that switcharoo? Before the kuei-jin raided the Dane?
Also some kinda non-spoilery questions:
I played on WSEPs 9.2 and checked the restore cut content option, what did that add in? What got cut out of the final game?
I'm interested in The final nights and in antritbu, how are they different and which is better? Also is the clan quest mod worth trying and does it work with TFN?

>>332194654
Also why does best girl never get mentioned in these threads? I wish she was more involved in the game. I know she's included in the companion mod and the companion mod is bundled into antribu, is it compatible with TFN?
>>
Can't comment too much about the game itself,
but I'll just leave this starting guide for the rookies out there.
>>
>>332194654
Jack was the one who raided the Dane before it arrived, remember he was a pirate before the embrace.
>>
>who slaughtered everyone on the Dane?
Jack did.
>Also when did Jack open the coffin and pull that switcharoo?
Right before you went onto the Dane. The Kuei-jin were never on the Dane, only Jack.
>>
>we will never get newline games
>not even licensed out to another studio

Blood and Smoke has so much potential, too.
>>
The only thing I didn't like about this game is how rushed the Chinese Vampire were, and most importantly how you have no real reason to join Ming Xiao.
>>
>>332195279
>>332195268
That makes sense now. But then when did the key get swiped? And if Lacroix had the coffin and the kuei-jin had the key and were in league why didn't they just open it? I'm guessing by the time lacroix finally got it the kuei-jin decided they didn't wanna play ball?
>>
>>332195739
I'm not sure when the key was stolen or if it's even addressed, but if I remember correctly the archeologist the Society of Leopold captured had it, so I'd assume that the Kuei-Jin stole it from him before his capture
>>
>>332196217
I thought at some point lacroix said it was in a box that was listed on the cargo manifest but wasn't found on the Dane.
>>

>>332195739
>>332195739
>>332195739
Basically when the Kue-jin got the key they didn't need to play ball with Lacroix any more they could just demand a bigger deal from him instead of the scraps they would of gotten if Lacroix's plan went unhitched.

>>332196217
>>332196539
Jack had the key at some point, we know this because he opened it to get the corpse out, it's not a stretch to think that he dropped it outside of the Kue-jin's temple knowing it would stir chaos by starting a war between the Camarilla and the Kuei Jin who are the two biggest enemies to the Anarchs in the Free State of LA.
>>
>>332196846
Gotcha. That makes a lot of sense. I beat the game at 2 in the morning and if I hadn't been so tired and asked more questions I could've pieced it together better

So /v/ Camarilla or Anarchs?
>>
>>332197895
Cammy but under a better Prince than Lacroix. I'd also start using the Merit based ranked system from the Anarchs rather than the Age based one the Cammies use now.
>>
>>332197895
I like the camarilla a lot. Vamps couldn't survive without the masquerade enforced. I think the anarch's ideals wouldn't work on a large scale. Giving blood sucking monsters that much freedom without enforcing laws on them would be a disaster. That said I did like all the anarch members, and lacroix is a backstabbing powerhungry asshole. What Jack or nines said about the camarilla just being about 5-10 higher ups staying in power while using everyone below them to maintain their position does seem true. I'd want the camarilla to run things but I'd stay out of their way and do my own thing.
>>
Okay guys, you convinced me to start another playthrough. First I was Tremere, now I want to try Malkavian. Any tips?

>>
I wanted to suck Nines' dick so bad.

He was my knight in shining armor.
>>
>>332198772
Same with Imalia, the both used to be rather attractive and now they are the opposite. Gary kinda revels in it while Imalia can't quite accept it.
>>

Malkies are good for stealth because obfuscate. Also the conversation options are pretty hilarious so don't skip out on any of them.
>>

>closest you can get to stopping time involves being a dindu nuffin with celerity
>doesn't have domination
>Ventrue has literally every power I want except from celerity
Fuck this gay earth.
>>
>>332201851
Go Toreador then. And the only ones who can stop time are the True Brujah with their Temporis discipline, but they aren't in the game only in the pnp.
>>
>>332202008
If one True Brujah stops time does another True Brujah stop time as well
>>
>>332202008
I did in my first playthrough, but I don't remember Celerity being an option. Perhaps I was playing one of the overhaul patches that fucked with everything.
>>
>>332202240
Toreador have Celerety as one of their main disciplines. Only them and Brujah has innate Celerety, but Gangrel can get it as well during late game with Beckett.
>>
I like to have my Vampires pick their faction based on Clan and the NPCs in the game.

Ventrue: The only Ventrue in the game is LaCroix. Faction: LaCroix

Gangrel: Turns out that Skelter is a Gangrel, but you never find out in-game. The slasher is a Gangrel, but meh. So, I go the same route as the remaining one- Becker. Faction: Independent.

Brujah: Nines, Jack, Damsel, the answer is obvious here. Faction: Anarch

Tremere: Only one other Tremere in the game, Strauss. Faction: Camarilla

Toreador: Baron Isaac Abrams, Velvet Velour, Ash Rivers, all Anarch. Shame, because I generally associate this clan with the Camarilla: Faction: Anarch.

Nosferatu: One of only two clans that actually have a Camarilla Primogen, and this one at least has several Camarilla members. Gary, Tung, Imalia, Barabus, Mitnick, etc. Faction: Camarilla

Malkavian: There WAS a Camarilla Primogen (Alistair Grout) but you never get to meet him. And there IS an Anarch Baron (Therese/Jeanette), and since she has a Ghoul too (Vandal)... Faction: Anarch

And no one goes Kuei-Jin because that's stupid as fuck.
>>
It was all Jack.
>>
I really liked the game but the combat was worse than Fallout 3.
>>

Sabbat gives safety to your average vampire, but you basically can't progress anywhere because vampires older than you hold all important positions. Sabbat is much dangerous because it's a sect of idiotic shovelheads and detached elders, but it gives immeasurable room to capable s they can progress because Sabbat is always lacking "middle management", so to speak. And you can always settle shit with a ritual duel so that's handy if you know how to play your cards right.

In PnP they're pretty based. Most of the Kindred don't believe in Cain and the Antedeluvians, but they do. Probably because their principle two clans the Lasombra and Tzimisce have actually risen up and diablerized their Antedeluvians.

So, while the Final Nights are nigh and the Camarilla are all pretending everything is fine, the Sabbat are preparing for the end.

Nah, Sabbats are seen as idiots because that's exactly what you see 90% of the time. Elders don't really risk their lives and shovel heads are not your equivalent to average Camarilla vampire. They're just morons who might, MIGHT get a chance to get fully elevated and trained by someone if they A) live long enough and B) do something of note. Your full-fledged new vampires are rarer in Sabbat because their elders remember really well how THEY acquired power in the first place - by diablerizing their predecessors. Or that's what they think, at least.

Dude, Jack is 10th gen and not even an elder. He IS powerful for his age, but not above the Sheriff.

Also, archmages are overrated as fuck. The theoretical few who exist have to hang out in the umbra to even exist, and the ones present in canon are all fairly weak compared to antediluvians. Sure, there's technically no limit to their potential, but that means fuck-all in the practical sense.

The Antediluvians actually aren't that strong. Archmages are indeed stronger than them. The only ones who pose a major threat to Mages are Tremere(who is arguably a good guy and a Mage anyway) and Tzimich, who also uses magic, and this is only after they conduct huge rituals.

The Technocracy could also easily take out the Antediluvians. Besides, the Anti's are more interested in fighting each other than anything else.

You'd think so and yes, generation DOES give you massive advantages as you go down the line, but in pen and paper each year, decade, century, etc you're active you get bonus experience. Not to mention you find out shit by experimenting like mixing disciplines, learning new disciplines, etc.

Nope, that's wrong. Generation only gives you potential, it doesn't make you immediately more powerful. A thousand-year old 10th gen will possibly have stacked dots in everything. A freshly-embraced 5th gen will have to start grinding, just like everyone else. Sure, he can reach past the 5-dot limit that the 10th gen reached ages ago, but he still has to work for it.

That being said, "14th gen" aren't even real vampires. Better to compare 13th and lower.

>>332210682
There is crossover potential, but I'd advise against it. The themes are just so much different.

That being said, yes there have been times where individual mages work with individual vampires. Werewolves in general are dickheads who will attack most others on sight, but then again there are werewolves who are "dedicated to evil" more or less and therefore cooperate. But yeah, it's not a great idea.

>>332210836
>Archmages are indeed stronger than them
Yes, THEORETICALLY. The problem is that they basically don't exist in the canon setting, except for a few who are decidedly weaker than the antes. So in practice, no, they're not that powerful, even though they theoretically have the potential.

>The only ones who pose a major threat to Mages are Tremere
Absolutely not, thaumaturgy is shite compared to true magic.

>Tzimich
It's tzimisce. And no, they're also pretty outclassed in the magic department. (They have strong, yet unrefined magic that is fairly pathetic compared to true magic again.)

The thing you don't seem to understand is how to classify "power levels". If you put a mage and a vampire in the same room all of a sudden and force them to fight, a vampire will win easily most of the time. But if the mage gets a week of prep time, he's a lot better off and would probably win. Mages are fragile, but if they're clever they can absolutely destroy vampires. That's why it's not as easy to categorize as the image suggests.

>The Technocracy could also easily take out the Antediluvians
No, they probably took out a single one, and only with great effort. But you are correct in that the Technocracy is more powerful than any other single faction, including the Traditions.

> tzimisce

The Tzimisce discipline of Vicissitude, basically flesh-crafting, is a mutant dimensional virus from outer space that transforms vampires into Gigerean monstrosities.

No, really.

Conspiracy theories make for very fun fictional worlds and engaging games, the puppeteer in the shadows, the power behind the power, that is the true spirit of the masquerade, intrigue, backstabbing, carpe noctem, Anne Ricean romance.

But this book quickly spirals into aluminum foil, Lady Gaga Illuminati, reptilians from Jupiter, antifluoridation madness within the first pages. This is all about the Black Hand, no, not the internal affair secret police of the Sabbat, but the Talma'hera, a super secret stake-my-heart-and-hope-to-die society who secretly controls those who believe that secretly control the world.

Where to begin? They are ancient, they live in a castle only accessible trough dimensional travel, they have members within every vampiric society, they fight alien monsters... Suddenly this doesn't feel like Vampire at all. and the new bloodlines, the "True" Brujah, yes, because the Brujah we came to love from the originals are now impostors, surprise! and they have this ultra l33t power, actually, they have the sphere of Time, yes, they have true magic and do not suffer paradox backlash, why, their lvl. 3 discipline allows them to accelerate and slow time, yes, they can move a superspeed and make others as slow as drying paint. The Old Clan Tzimisce are bland and boring and the Nagaraja are nothing special, they can see ghosts and their weakness is that they must eat raw meat. Meh.

And how can I forget, the book includes systems to make an elder vampire with 10 discipline powers instead of the usual 3. This book is plot cancer, if you introduce the ideas put inside your chronicle will quickly degenerate into some über-powered dark fantasy and there is no chance it can go back ever again.

This never really happened. Two of the Gehenna scenarios involve the Antediluvians awakening, in one they start fighting each other 1v1 and Tzimich nearly takes over the world with a magic ritual(which he usurped from Tremere, which Mages could do) and the other has them raising armies to wage full on war with each other.

Mage and Werewolf have "End of the world" scenarios, but Vampire's are mostly just Vampire related. Voormas could probably take out any Antideluvian.

>>
>>332212771
Depends on what you're playing. In VtM, its the Camarilla. In Mage, it's the Technocracy. In Werewolf, it's not really Pentex (since they're just not big enough by themselves)

But again, crossovers are mostly cancer. If you play VtM, the other splats aren't going to be as important as vampires. If you're playing MtA, same thing but for mages, etc.

>>332212776
Paths aren't all that uncommon, especially among Sabbat and older vampires. In Dark Ages, nearly everyone's on a Path, with Humanity being just a path in itself.

>>332213080
>not being on a path if you're an elder
That's just the rules being dumb. Not really an uncommon thing in cWoD unfortunately.

I don't disagree though, there's absolutely no reason not to max out generation at chargen, but that still doesn't mean that a low-gen fledgling starts out more powerful than someone who put all their dots in other places.

But anyway, generation being a background is a terrible system. Our ST just set the same starting gen for everyone and that was that.

But it seems clearly you're not any lower than 8th gen because of the limits to 5 dots, so in my opinion, the answer is probably "because otherwise it wouldn't be a game"

I know little about WoD lore as a whole, but don't the Technocracy focus a lot on making sure cosmic monstrosities don't turn earth into their next snack/wasteland? Which would make them much better suited to generally being involved less in the affairs of Earth-locked factions

Dark Ages Vampire was great. Probably the finest piece of writing for a game line that White Wolf ever put out in oWoD.

It's been a very long tie since I read the material, but I vaguely recall there were things in outer space which the Technocracy ended up having to fight. Initially the Void Engineers were focused on exploration and colonization, but then they began encountering awful, awful things and had to weaponize themselves.

It was implied that at least one of these horrible things was actively coming towards the Earth and the Void Engineers were the only thing between it and Humanity. There is one Mage "Time of Judgement" scenario which involves Alien creatures which eat magic attacking the Earth.

Besides that, the Technocracy focuses on monitoring Humanity, keeping awakenings controlled and guiding Humanity to tolerate scientific and technological principles to the point they can safely release new technology. For example, they'd have to focus on building up Humanity's tolerance for the idea of space travel and making them believe progress is being made to make it possible for they start allowing their star ships to start openly orbiting Earth. Otherwise, people would see these space ships in the sky and go "WOW HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!" and awaken.

Yes, I love it. Currently playing a Dark Ages VtM game with my group, it's excellent. Definitely the highlight of my week.

I feel like it's more fun/more fleshed out than modern nights, since you're not locked to the sects and you can more easily be 7th gen for those fun elder powers, and there's less masquerade shit to worry about. It's also super-neat to be able to progress years at a time to see your plans come to fruition. After all, the perhaps primary advantage of being a vampire is not dying of old age, and that's just not experienced at all in modern nights.

The novels? I'm...not nearly enough into the 90s Goth aesthetic(says the guy posting in a WoD thread) to enjoy them. They're pretty good as far as RPG fiction goes though.

Most of what we talk about here comes from the game books themselves, which contain all the rules and little tidbits of history and fluff in between.

I wouldn't pay for any of them, but Time of Judgment focuses more on Demon, KotE, Hunter, Changeling and something else. But most of the Demon books are actually really great to read.

Turns out the Carpathian God that grants Tzimisces Koldun is actually an Earthbound Demon. You also get insight into Cain, Lilith, the original curse, why the World of Darkness IS the World of Darkness, etc.

But it really triggers Werewolf and Mage fags who find their lore gets superceded and overruled by Judeo-Christian origins.

The best STs keep that shit close to their chest until it's discovered in-game.

>Not everyone has the potential to Awaken.
Not everyone, but a lot. Paradox regarding technology is complicated. In all likelihood if enough space ships appeared in the sky and enoygh people saw them, the world would have a hard time paradoxing it away, hence awakening rather than paradox.

Even if they did malfunction, people would still wonder what all the falling wreckage from the sky is, what happened to all their cities they crashed on, what are the huge structures sitting in craters in the middle of their cities/all over the world, etc... and if everyone in the world was struck with amnesia over it, all kinds of other weird shit would happen because of that. There is only so far paradox can go before the amazing becomes normal. Various modern technologies that are commonly accepted used to cause paradox.

>>
>>332215871
Of course. I meant the reason for people wanting them in the first place. WoD is a lot better served by STs choosing their own versions of events.

Anyway, it's a bit sad. I'm not sure what WW could have done differently honestly. We're still playing VtM, but we have very little interest in new books because we feel like we have all we need already. No reason to shell out for all these weird clanbooks and barely updated versions.

It's honestly a very very cheap hobby to have. The only issue is finding non-retarded players, but books won't help you with that.

>>332215921
I strongly prefer the setting and tone of VtM myself, but the other settings are cool as well. The problem arises when you attempt to do heavy crossovers and end up with tons of contradictions and imbalances, which is why these books seem so redundant.
>>
So I never really got the whole werewolf and gangrel thing. So gangrel are just vampires that prefer nature and being loners, and have shapeshifting powers, like Beckett? But they can turn into wolves? Can they only turn into wolves or are those manbat enemies you fight gangrel? If I play a gangrel is the "warform" you turning into a bat monster or a wolf? Can any gangrel shapeshift into any animal? Or do they each have like one animal they can turn into?
Also how do werewolves embrace others? Just a bite? Do they follow the full moon rule or are their transformations voluntary?
>>
>>332206243
exploit the gun pickup system.
Sell every gun you aren't actively using. Whenever you pickup a gun you don't already have you just get ammo, but when you pick up for the first time you get the considerably more valuable gun itself. In some fights you can exploit this repeatedly, if there's a direct route to the vendor. Best example is downtown in the car park.

Assamite, Brujah, Nosferatu and Gangrel are all go-to combat powerhouses. (Though true shitters try and go for city gangrel for maximum cheese for Celerity/Protean/Obfuscate.)

But everyone knows that they're only dangerous in street fights. The REAL powergamers go Tremere, Lasombra or Tzimisce. (In that order.)

>>332216438
Gangrel are a clan with shapeshifting powers, yes. They can turn into basically any animal, but they have to choose a couple, it's not like animorphs.

PnP is a bit different from VTMB, in the video game you can't turn into a wolf, but you can turn into a wolfman. In PnP, it's the reverse.

Werewolves are a whole different monster. They don't "embrace", but breed. (yiff yiff)

Personally, I never saw the need for werewolves in a setting where you have gangrel.
>>
>>332216438
Yeah, they're entirely separate things. In fact, most Gangrel have fuckall to do with wolves. They might frenzy and get chicken feathers or goldfish gills or something. Their "Shape of the Beast" form doesn't necessarily have to be a wolf. You could be like a puma or alligator or something, but once picked, that's what it is. They get both a "fight" and "flight" form though. So, what you generally see are "wolf and bat" but that's not their only choice.

Werewolves are a different thing entirely. They don't Embrace anyone, you're born a Werewolf. Or a Kinfolk- which is just a normal human with the super power of being able to impregnate / be impregnated by Werewolves. Werewolves can shapeshift on will, but during Full Moons it's hard for them not to shapeshift and go into a frenzy. Said frenzies are dangerous for other Werewolves too. They're like Vampires giving into the Beast in that regard.
>>
>>332216438
Yeah, the manbats are gangrel. In the PnP you don't actually get that power unless you're really low gen, but you can turn into various animals. I *think* it's related to your personality or something
Also werewolves are born, not sired IIRC

> If you could Awaken tons of people like on an assembly line by exposing them to supernatural shit
That is a very small scale, though. I'm talking about a total global event. A global awakening is actually the goal of several groups and one of the things the Technocracy seeks to prevent. The Chaos that would unfold would be incalculable, and the Technocracy is all about Order and Control. If you just televise some supernatural shit as your plan to start a global awakening, paradox would probably just make everything think it was a commercial or TV show or a publicity stunt. Space Ships filling the sky, everywhere, across the world, is a totally different thing and much harder for the universe to cover up.
>>
>>332216438

The best ending is situational.

Camarilla if you're a Tremere or a Toreador, for obvious reasons.

Independant if you're a Nosferatu, you can just hang out underground playing videogames, browsing the Internet, and you might be taught some hacking, all while being pretty much safe until Gehenna.

LaCroix if you're playing a Ventrue right, otherwise Camarilla.

Anarch if you're anything else.

Only go Kuei-Jin if you're playing a character who fucking hates vampires and wants to help destroy them, I guess.

It's not a "giant" animal, it's just an animal. And no, I don't think insects are possible, it has to be of a particular size. So anything between a rat and a tiger. (No elephants.)

Elder powers lets you do tons of crazy shit though, this is only for the "low-level" vampires, so to speak. If you're old/powerful enough, you can do pretty much whatever, that goes for all clans.

>>332217467

>>332217681
Like I said, a mass awakening would be Chaos. In all likelihood a huge number of Awakened souls might not want to join the Technocracy or share their ideals, and many would oppose the Technocracy or just want to do their own thing, to say nothing of those who would become drunk with power, go insane and possibly become marauders, try to take over the world, and so forth. The Technocracy wants to prevent or control Awakenings to make sure they occur on their terms.

The final goal is to eventually prepare Humanity to accept their technology in a way that does not cause paradox or mass uncontrolled awakenings.

The Technocratic Union is fucking corrupt at this point, though, and it's more about control than technological enlightenment and humanities flourishing.

Protean level 4 gives a Gangrel two animal forms, which are decided when they acquire the ability and can't be changed.

They're called fight form and flight form. Flight form is for running away, so it's a small animal, most common is bats, ravens, or stuff. However it could be anything that helps you get away, not necessarily a flying animal, so a cat or a mouse are fine.

Fight form for fucking people up. Most common is wolf, but mostly any animal that can fight is plausible, like tiger, bears, and stuff. They have to take a certain size, so if you turn in to a wolf it's a big wolf, but if you turn into a bear it's a small bear.

I believe the Gangrel clanbook mentions dudes turning into giant rats and spiders, but I have to check, so don't quote me on that.

Paradox did buy the franchise, so there will be some kind of vidya developed for it soon-ish. But whether that will be anything like VTMB is unknown at this point. It will be based around their 4th edition overhaul, and who knows what kind of changes that will entail. Personally, I'd rather they left most things intact, just curtailing most of the Gehenna bullshit.

Unfortunately, they seem intent on crossovers, probably meaning lots of shoehorned-in Mage/Werewolf crap into muh VtM. But we'll see.

And that's not relevant to anything I said at all. I already know they're not interested in mass awakenings, I'm telling you why I think Mage is a fairly shoddy setting when they've committed themselves into delivering outer space exploration into a game that is supposed to be based on a late 90s setting. Everything is just explained away by "lol, it's magic bro, I ain't gotta explain shit", which is just lazy. It completely destroys any incentive to be creative.

Your problem is that you're currently stuck in "lorefag mode", were you assume that anyone who responds to you know nothing of the source material and would just LOVE to sit here and listen to you prattle on all evening long, instead of actually reading the responses and thinking before answering.

I really do hope they start with a general "World of Darkness" game where you play a normal person who becomes a Hunter. This would be a great way to introduce gamers with no prior-experience with the setting to every aspect of it. From Vampires, to Werewolves, to Mages, to Changelings, to Mummies, and so forth. This can also lay the groundwork, and can then be branched out into Vampire, Mage and Werewolf settings.
>>
>>332219835
It's Paradox, not Ubishit.

Just another reason Mage jumped the shark a long time ago. EVERYTHING just has to be explained by Mages doing Mage stuff. Humans don't do ANYTHING without the express permission of Mages or their related antagonists. So fucking dumb.

>I really do hope they start with a general "World of Darkness" game where you play a normal person who becomes a Hunter.
Too broad a scope, won't happen. And Hunter tends to make every other splat way too common and cheap anyway. Why would Joe Nobody be able to easily murder ancients left and right without being ripped to shreds after a single night, unless he's in the Inquisition, which presents its own issues.

Consider all the Hunter games we've seen yet: Silly arcade games where you're basically just running around murdering a billion monsters Diablo-style. A proper Hunter game might be fun, sure, but it's not gonna happen.

>From Vampires, to Werewolves, to Mages, to Changelings, to Mummies, and so forth
>implying anything but the big three will get anything but a passing mention
Maybe Wraith because the lead developer loves it, but that's a whole other can of worms.

But it's obvious the main focus will be Vampire. It has always been the biggest, most popular splat by far. While I do think Mage will get something, you're delusional if you think the magic system will be anything akin to PnP, so it will mostly be a disappointment.

Malkavians are crazy. So when you're in conversation they have different options than the other clans. If you were a regular vampire you would say "Hey I saw a ghost" whereas the malkavian dialogue option would be "I SEE DEAD PEOPLE." A lot of it is legitamately funny but it can be hard to understand exactly what each dialogue choice means. You could try them first but keep in mind you're playing as a weirdo.
The Nosferatu are hideous monsters and you can never raise your appearance stat, so forget trying to hold any sort of conversation with a normal human being that isn't quest important. If people catch prolonged looks at you on the street they'll scream, run, and call the cops, and if you remain in the limelight too long you'll get a masquerade strike and congrats, now vampire hunters are on your ass. So, you'll spend a lot of time creeping through shadows and sewers and eating rats for food. They're fun and great for stealth but by playing them you're voluntarily missing out on a large part of the game, which is mingling in the world. Your call really but that's why they're not recommended for your first run.

There's as many forms of Malk craziness as there are mental illnesses in the world. If played right, though, they should always be debilitating since that's their curse.

That's part of why people consider the PC Malk to be a bit of a Fishmalk: his curse only manifests as funny dialogue and insight.

Very lightly. He's mentioned in the Days of Fire Demon: The Fallen book and so acknowledged as a relevant and important event, but the whole franchise sort of shies away from touching too much on the actual Christian side of the Judeo-Christian faith.

Yes, the second half of the game where things get more combat orientated. Clans that use clerity, like Brujah and Toreador seem to get good use out of them because you can go all matrix-y with them.

So, after or during the 14-15th generation there is no point in embracing new vampires as one of those gens, as they will be just about as weak as a human?

Are there any numbers, even roughly, on how many there are of each gen? I assume lower generations don't sire a whole lot either?

At that point their blood is too thin to sire other Vampires or even create ghouls. 15th Generation is thin enough that some can even go into the sun.

Also, fuck you too captcha.

Couldn't vamps just seize the world by force if their lower gens are so stupidly strong?

I don't get all this tipping on toes around humans. Just go full matrix and grow them in vats for sucking later after taking over the world.
>>
>>332231790
Modern technology is what makes the vampires wary. It was mentioned in the books that no matter how much damage you can soak as an 800y old vampire, a missile is going to kill you. Not to mention a lot of really old vampires are so out of date with the modern tech, they will be outpaced by humans in a hearthbeat. Then there's the whole numbers thing, as there are a lot more humans than vampires. Put it all together and it's a very good reason as to why vampires don't try to take over the world.

>Couldn't vamps just seize the world by force if their lower gens are so stupidly strong?

Even without taking the other settings into consideration, Humanity shits all over Vampires.

Taking the other settings into consideration, such as Mage, both the Technocracy and the Seers of the Throne are more influential and powerful collectively, and allow Vampires to exist because the maintaining of the Masquerade actually suits their purposes of suppressing knowledge of the supernatural. The Masquerade isn't just about Vampires, if people find out Werewolves exist, for example, they'll start to wonder what else exists as well...

With the Werewolf setting, The Wyrm holds some power over Vampires, and Pentex corporation is aware of Vampires existence and employs them.
>>
>>332232429
Could be worse, at least the Salubri had allies to help them fend off the Tremere and help them to get to some safe haven. The real tragedy here is the loss of the Cappadocian, the Giovanni took over and no one even lift a finger to help those poor fucks.

>TL;RD for anyone

If Masquarade fails, everybody are fucked up. Last think vampires, werewolfs and everyone need are humans getting into witch hunts again.

This time with fucking army, hunters official support and God know what else fucking everything around. It would not only break status Quo, it would shit on board of Game (aka everything), jump on it and break it into pieces.

Not worth it, at all.
>>
>>332232461
>100 million vampires and other mythical creatures.
There are nowhere near that many Vampires, Werewolves, Mages, etc... 100 million is a big number.

Mages would probably side with Humanity, especially if they prove they can provide solutions to fight the other supernatural denizens.

There was actually a Gehenna scenario where Vamps became common knowledge, and at first things were going surprisingly well, but then Humanity began digging and finding out all kinds of disturbing information, and war eventually broke out.

Only vaguely related, but there is a Faction in Vampire: The Requiem called The Commonwealth which wants to unite all denizens of the Earth: Humans, Vamps, Werewolves, Mages, Spirits, etc... into one society. Even going so far as to designing city plans and services to accommodate those strange entities.
>>
>>332232142
Numbers doesn't sound like they would matter when each vampire can sire...as many as he/she can? Then depending on generation those vampires can do it again.

It would work like a virus, doubling in numbers every so often. I suspect world domination would occur basically by infiltration and overwhelming urban areas. Not with conventional warfare. Also, everyone sired retain memories, yes? Each new vamp is a modern capable vamp.

>>332232461
>100 mil vampires
If even half of that reaches a victim to sire you'll have 50 mil more and it will just keep going up. Humans can't keep up with Tyranid-esque reinforcements.
>>
>>332231790
It doesn't help that you have other supernaturals that try and protect the humans, a ton of werewolves value gaia, nature, and humans. In most cases outside of gen 4 and lower, a werewolf WILL beat a Vampire. Vampires have way more to lose than a werewolf, a Vampire could have existed for 1000s of years, they become complacent and willing to just go with the waves. Werewolves only live as long as a human, they have like 100 years at most to live and they go day by day living shit to the fullest and in most ways they are 100% willing to martyr themselves to help stop the Wyrm

Are you trying to open the iso with rar or 7zip? Just mount it with Daemon Tools or burn it.

Only the newest embrace is bloodbound to the sire, I think. So, if he goes around mass embracing, suddenly there's a pack of hungry angry vampires at his doorstep with no loyalty and out for revenge.

They could resent the curse of the undeath, or not know they are vampires and fight for humans, or Count Cunt made them drink the blood of their parents/espouse/kids and they want revenge, or extremely opportunistic assholes who side with the humans so they can continue existing under the new regime.

How much blood do vampires need to spend to embrace? Is it like zombies where they can bite people and turn them immediately indefinitely or do they need to drink a bloodbag or another human to have enough vitae to give?
>>332233110
Wasn't humanity tainted with the spirit of the Weaver or something? I guess there's loyal pooch and eco-feminist dyke within the werewolves. Anyway, if anyone is to be siding with humanity it would probably be the Mages. Now that'd be a show.

Most of Human society is infused with a small fraction of the Weaver's power, as Human civilization is largely built around order and building.

The Weaver going mad may or may not have affected Human society, though his attack on The Wyrm, which caused The Wyrm to go mad, did cause the Wyrm to actively try to corrupt and tear down society in various ways.
