I don't think it's bait. The game can be fucking amazing. But it's plagued by that lag compensation and bad gun balance. Why a fucking sidearm smg is the best gun in the game, I don't know.

You can kinda get that gameplay out of some of the Arma 3 mods like Wasteland but in general no there aren't any FPS games like that these days.
