I thought I had escaped this kind of non-creativity when I stopped opening the "What if X fantasy race acted like Y?" threads on /tg/
I think the Zelda legend told in different settings would be interesting. A space-faring race tells it, survivors of an apocalypse, black people, etc.
It'll never happen, but I preferred the series tying itself together through reference, rather than a direct and unnecessary timeline.
