He really is. Especially in the comments about him offering $1,000 to anyone who can replicate and properly record the data of a glitch that has only be done once. He's got humor in addressing people he recognizes as idiots or trolls. Hell, he even chuckles in the beginning of the linked video when he speaks about people asking, every time, about "what a half press is." He's aware that no one fucking reads his video descriptions, which are explicitly designed to explain wtf he's doing, and finds it amusing other people are too lazy or inept to just scroll through and read.
He's actually quite masterful about communicating what he's doing. Very very very few people would understand just what game mechanics he's abusing if he weren't SO GOOD at describing, using visuals (charts, replays, graphs, data), showing calculations and explaining abstract concepts. I will say it's extremely odd to spend this much time to even do this stuff in the first place, I constantly find myself asking "WHY?" during all this, but it's really just an interest of his and frankly, he made something as banal as getting a star in Mario 64 without jumping seem interesting. Something that would make me say "no, wtf, I don't care about that" actually turn around and say "huh, well shit, that was...pretty cool. And enlightening."

As a case worker for autistic kids the number one thing that I see is a lack of clear organization and over looking small details.
