If you count Team Scarlet as a Sakuya shottype, it's arguably the least braindead shottype in the game.
And Sakuya B in DDC might be simple, but it's by no means a crutch.
In fact, in both DDC and PCB, Sakuya seems to have a recurring trend where one of her shottypes is a simple, easy modo shot, while her other is a tougher to use shottype with way more potential.

Alice's shot doesn't have any charge up to start shooting but it lingers for a bit.
So if you switch between marisa and alice constantly you're effectively shooting with both girls at the same time.

I recommend giving Shoot Shoot Nitori a chance.
The first one is a more arcade styled shmup, where you go from stage to stage, items and lives carry over from each stage, and you actually move slower if you have too many items.
The second one removes the speed reduction from having too many items, lets you choose which order you want to play the stages, resets your lives and items at the start of each stage, and has a built in shop that lets you buy new characters, or items for stages if your having trouble.
The two games have completely different stages, so it's worth playing both.
I like all the protagonists except Youmu.
Sakuya and Sanae never seem to be in the same game, but if either one is in, I'll probably play as them over the other characters.
Also is it me, or is Sakuya the protagonist who talks the most shit before a battle?
