It changes a lot of things, mostly negative, at some points fully cringe inducing like how the game's ending is ruined by having a sepia filtered montage forced in to make you more "emotional", god that was stupid, it infuriatingly makes Ultima Weapon and other things require much more grinding to get for reasons not worth speculating on, it spoils a major endgame event with a new and totally moronic cutscene, and I could go on
It's really not worth it. Kingdom Hearts is a truly beautiful game and Squaresoft's swan song, they made a great game, your experience will be worse for playing the altered version.
The only great thing Final Mix adds is the ability to skip cutscenes, but since you should always emulate kingdom hearts in 1080p anyway, and since emulation allows skipping cutscenes anyway (just make a quicksave after the cutscene), there is still no reason to play anything other than the original release
The new releases add some content, I get it, but none of it compels me to change my mind

I loved KH3D, but honestly, I would say "no". Not unless you can find it for $25 or less, which is impossible if you're looking at video game retailers like GameStop, Games Plus, etc. Even used, you'll be hard pressed to find it for less than $36.99. It's just not going to drop in price. Even if you like the game, like I did, you'll still feel cheated because you paid almost $40 and the game is over before you know it. It's very short and until you get to the last stretch of final bosses, it's also very easy.
If you have a PS3, I would say get one of the HD remixes. They're the absolute best thing you can buy if you want to get into Kingdom Hearts.
